    ThinkC Think C 6 and System 7.6.1...

Well...I finally set up my Quadra 950 and found my Symantec C++ Release 4 disk from around 1995. It also includes THINK Pascal 4.0.2 and other fun tools. In addition, I installed CodeWarrior 11 Gold. It is currently running on a SuperMac Thunder/24 board on a Sony 520GS 21" monitor. Now I just...

    BFEXTU's Recent Acquisitions...

I was able to find a IIci for $100 that boots and works, but needs recapping. The internal speaker does not work and the HD appears to be no good -- or it could just be a cap issue. Anyway, it has various problems that appear capacitor-related and it needs to be cleaned, in general. No battery...

    BFEXTU's Recent Acquisitions...

I also got a couple of other machines for $20 each, but they don't appear to work -- a 7300/180 and a Quadra 700 -- but they may yet be salvageable. Edit - Sorry -- not a Quadra 700 at all. It looks like both are 7300/180s...but the front bezel is missing from one. It's probably parts only...

    BFEXTU's Recent Acquisitions...

The base model is an M4405 G3 Mini-Tower, 266Mhz 512K Cache with 32Mb RAM/6Mb VRAM, 120gb HD, 24x CD, Zip drive and A/V. But, it has been upgraded to a 433Mhz G4 with 192Mb RAM...and it works, which may be a minor miracle! :D I will take out the battery ASAP (if it is still in there). Overall...

    BFEXTU's Recent Acquisitions...

A G3/G4 433Mhz (upgraded) Mini Tower 192Mb RAM OS9.2! It was only $20. Works great! 😁 Pretty awesome!

    BFEXTU's ProdigySE Project

I was able to locate a 2Mb Prodigy/SE board, so I should be able to do some more VM experiments and also compare my PMMUs to the one in this board (if VM) works to see if my new old stock PMMUs are any good.

PowerView - The Weird PowerBook SCSI External Video Card

@YMAC -- if you use the SuperView, it would be a good idea to make sure you have a full backup of any SCSI drives attached to the system. I think it used to have a rogue bug where it could corrupt SCSI drives. I don't know if that bug was ever found/fixed, or if the PowerView had similar issues...

    Building A/UX Device Drivers

I am now working on the A/UX 2.0 ANSI C Compiler doc, but it might be worth noting that it bears some similarity to the later (1992) reorganized/updated A/UX 3.0 version that you can find on bitsavers: A/UX 3.0 Programming Languages and Tools Volume 1 - 1992 A/UX 2.0 might have historical...

    Building A/UX Device Drivers

@mietek @robin-fo Here is one of the 32-year-old unobtainium manuals for the A/UX Dev Tools: A/UX Development Tools 1991 PDF (226 pages) See the above post and disclaimer. The other manual is about 250 pages - I'll do it next week.

    Building A/UX Device Drivers

I scanned it at 300dpi/JPEG - seems to be OK. The printed quality is good. Trying to increase the resolution or make it lossless just makes the file laggy and doesn't really seem to add any major usability benefit. The raw scans were about 100mb of scan data that optimized down to 3.8mb after...

    SuperMac SuperLaserSpool Registration...

@lilliputian - Not true! The SuperSpool product was for non-LaserWriters. SuperSpool and SuperLaserSpool were not the same thing! ;)

    SuperMac SuperLaserSpool Registration...

I want to say that in 1988, SuperSpool was around v5.x and SuperLaserSpool was v2.x. There was also a "Multi-User" SuperLaserSpool that was, comically, just 5 copies of the single-user SLS version in the same box.

I would have to look and see. I have multiple manuals, disks, etc.

SuperMac Enhance Board Memory Upgrade Information

I generally agree. The original Enhance specs may have been in place before anyone realized that the address space was capped at 4Mb (or maybe there some other software trick in mind to do some extended mapping - that rings a bell, now that I think of it). I have to find my boards and fix up my...

SuperMac Enhance Board Memory Upgrade Information

Attached is a relatively rare document - the SuperMac Enhance Dealer Installation Manual from 1987. I doubt many of these booklets still exist out in the wild (not to mention an actual Enhance board with an E6000 PAL). It's a fun read with a fascinating protagonist, impossible situations and...

SuperMac Enhance Board Memory Upgrade Information

@AvadonDragon I don't recall ever seeing one work at 6.5Mb - only 4.5Mb with an E6000 PAL upgrade installed. I have 2 or 3 Enhance boards laying around, and I think I have one with an E6000 PAL, but I just can't find it - buried somewhere or maybe mummified in vintage anti-static bubble wrap in...

SuperMac Enhance Board Memory Upgrade Information

Attached is the original datasheet for the SuperMac Enhance board. This particular copy comes from London in 1987. While reading the PDF, if you listen verrry carefully, you may be able to hear an anglicized American accent. And, while the datasheet notes that 6.5Mb was the max config, I don't...
