343S0120 (0120) voltage monitor IC (LC, Color Classic, Classic II) replacement

I'll probably sell a few batches first but yeah.

    Parametric PGA socket

    Something like https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004707554342.html or https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32972142300.html ?

343S0120 (0120) voltage monitor IC (LC, Color Classic, Classic II) replacement

And it's actually not that hard to solder, just needs some flux. Seems to work fine. If I use RoHS solder for the IC it should be even quite easy to remove it in one piece if needed.

    Parametric PGA socket

Oh dear, now I know what to do if I'm bored :)

    Parametric PGA socket

I have so many other stuff to do that I couldn't help but add support for hollow versions with Unicode Art for the angled corners.

    Parametric PGA socket

Oops, looks like I zapped one value in the cylinder args somewhere and it made a cone, fixed. I added a margin slider. Need to go back home to push it though. Edit: fixes pushed.

    Parametric PGA socket

I usually add margins to the models, how much did you add?

    Parametric PGA socket

I saw @max1zzz had a try at OpenSCAD, to generate PGA sockets, so I helped and cleaned up the code, made it more parametric, so we can now 3D-print sockets for all those… The code is here.

343S0120 (0120) voltage monitor IC (LC, Color Classic, Classic II) replacement

I received the PCBs and *finally* some chips, after a 3rd order (1st never shipped, 2nd never arrived…). Looks promising:

343S0120 (0120) voltage monitor IC (LC, Color Classic, Classic II) replacement

If only my ISP would accept the account validation mail from PCBWay…

343S0120 (0120) voltage monitor IC (LC, Color Classic, Classic II) replacement

I got a routed PCB, but so tiny it'd probably wouldn't be accepted by fabs… luckily it seems possible to do your own cuts for castellated PCBs, which means panelizing them manually would make them larger and probably easier to pass the validation. I should try that soon.

Recreating the Mac's CUDA / EGRET microcontroller chips - can it be done?

Been sidetracked by the companion chip (0120), which seemed easier to tackle first.

343S0120 (0120) voltage monitor IC (LC, Color Classic, Classic II) replacement

I've been distracted from EGRET woes by that small chip next to it… I've since figured out the pinout and characteristics, and found a potential candidate for replacement. But of course it doesn't have the same pinout, and of course it's also SOIC-8, because the smaller TSSOP version is...

Replacement headphone jack for Macintosh IIci and similar logic boards

If the legs are long enough, maybe a 1.2mm interposer PCB might be enough? You can check with a piece of cardboard, make holes to get the pins through, and see if they go down to the other face of the logic board. It will be a bit more fragile, but it should work.

    Micro-Alchimie (France)

Last week-end we had 65 people gathering in a minuscule town in France with old computers… Some people took photos. I fixed some stuff there (like an N64 PSU brick, an Amiga RAM card…), and we had a lot of fun.
