    Ultrasonic cleaner expectations

Yeah exactly. My issue is I don’t have a dedicated spot for it to stay. I was planning on getting it out on a let use basis. So I’d be emptying it after use.

    Ultrasonic cleaner expectations

Hmm yeah I’m starting to wonder if it’s worth it for my needs. If I have to spend almost $100.00 on solution and the how much would I need to pour into a 5 gallon tank? Just to occasionally clean a board. plus it’s big and takes up a lot of space. Maybe just some alchohol / vinegar and a...

    Ultrasonic cleaner expectations

That’s the same one I have the 30l vevor. I guess you should clean the flux and board with isopropyl and a brush prior to untrasonic Cleaning. I was under the impression it would clean the flux off the board and at least some of the corrosion and rust. I really can’t tell if it is doing...

No just water. Does it only clean metal? Any dirt and flux sticky stuff etc will stay?

    Ultrasonic cleaner expectations

I just got a 30L ultrasonic cleaner and so far I’m not too impressed. Maybe my expectations were too high but aside from it not cleaning any corrosion of my boards it’s not even cleaning the flux or any gunk off. I can tell no difference. temp at 45c and I run it for 30 mins. it did annihilate...

    Macintosh Portable M5120 Display issue

Are there black stains on the pins on the hybrid board? Corrosion from cap leakage destroys that board. Out of about 4 boards I’ve repaired so far only one has a working hybrid. I’ve replaced all the others with ones from SuperSVGA on here. Androda also makes them.

    Macintosh Portable M5120 Display issue

I finally found a decent display now. It has one dead pixel that I’m trying to not let mother me 😂 …and I have two that have lines all over the place. I’m just crossing my fingers my third one doesn’t start acting up! lol 😆 I’m going to be parting out and selling two portables. I’ve repaired...

ThinkC MacDock dev progress -- Like today's macOS Dock but for System 7

Nice updates. Yeah non running apps would tie it all together and then no more need for alias’s on the desktop.

ThinkC MacDock dev progress -- Like today's macOS Dock but for System 7

There used to be a way to code the window to float i can barely recall there was also this mini pallet windows with the tiny title bar and you could make those float. maybe that was a system 7.5 thing though. I cant remember. I never liked the hiding thing anyway on the dock. Years ago I had a...

ThinkC MacDock dev progress -- Like today's macOS Dock but for System 7

That weird "Disk Full" error.. it was happening in several other apps too not just THINK. I am going to try the 32 boot system enabler instead of Mode32 and see what happens but removing the Thread Manager extension solved it.

ThinkC MacDock dev progress -- Like today's macOS Dock but for System 7

Nice that’s much better. Once you resize it remains sticky at that size? I figured out my sim full issue was a conflict on my machine with Thread Manager extension. Not sure if it’s a system wide issue or my repaired logic board is still a bit wonky…

Ya I figured you were half hiding so you could still see the icons. Pretty cool project. I'll have to step through it in the debugger and see whats going on.

ThinkC MacDock dev progress -- Like today's macOS Dock but for System 7

I just built it and ran in in THINK C 5. THINK C doesn't like 32 bit addressing enabled from memory control panel / Mode 32. The project builds but then while it's copying the resources it gives a disk full error. weird. With Dock hiding enabled, the dock drops down about half way. Is this the...

ThinkC MacDock dev progress -- Like today's macOS Dock but for System 7

Haha ya I was kidding.. The books will be staying on the shelf. I’m too lazy and spoiled to deal with that anymore. But yeah back in the day I had them all surrounding me in a circle on the floor along with my code listings printed out. Man we used to have it hard. Now I’m asking ChatGPT to...

ThinkC MacDock dev progress -- Like today's macOS Dock but for System 7

Yeah apps not running would be great. That’s the main reason I want a dock / launcher. And the ability to resize it would be cool. To be able to scale it down to the minimal icon size. I have not programmed in Mac toolbox land since the late 90’s so I’ve got a lot of work jarring it back out...

ThinkC MacDock dev progress -- Like today's macOS Dock but for System 7

I’ve been digging up my old projects and have just repaired my IICx and put THINK C on it and put CodeWarrior on my G3 laptop and was going to to start playing around with my favorite IDE and compilers. Though I would grab your project and see if I could build it on the IIcx. And I need a dock...

    Mac Classic screen shake

I can hear your voice and speaking style… IN your posts. 😆 (I have a Sony monitor doing something very similar but it’s waving and rising vertically) I have yet to figure it out. Replaced caps and bridge rectifier and the driver chip.

These LCDs are a nightmare. I’ve tried to repair two of them end they just got worse and worse. I had one that was perfect then a lone speared one day. Then Another. Then 5 more. Ahhhhg I replaced drivers etc. I think it’s the pads on the glass itself and not the board or the zebra strips.
