    A Classic II/LC III laptop/book….

KISS principle adherence is a lofty goal. However frog's design shows the LCD to be a discrete assy that may well have been intended to be hinged at the front, else ergonomic design principles would have been thrown "inside the box," which doesn't sound like a Hartmut kinda thing. ;) Printing...

What Beige Apple ADB keyboards/mice am I missing?

Also included a short one connecting the two halves of the Adjustable KBD.

@-SE40- You could also hinge it at the front so it's kinda like a //c/Portable/PowerBook blend. There's also the hinge it on a half frame to flip it over either way in the middle trick. Might just work out if your controller had the right kind of cable or is thin enough to run just the VGA/HDMI...

    A Classic II/LC III laptop/book….

If I might make a suggestion, flip the LCD over so it's a lid that hinges at the back edge. Hartmut never came up with that more ergonomically correct twist for this one that I've seen. ;) Portable rocks, my concept, decade long project is based on one of frog's designs. The maniac did up in...

    Compact Mac Video Adapter

Didn't see any source material from the CatMac/Hackintosh days in the thread. I was moving documentation around today and misplaced the three PCB pics I'd associated with this article: I'll try to find and edit the pics in later if you guys would like or not if you don't. IIRC TTL -> VGA is...

    A Classic II/LC III laptop/book….

I'll post a fairly current hack that looks a bit like this and how I'm Prototyping it in wood and Plexi rather than CAD. Physical objects were used back in the day for the process. Maybe you'll take a whack at it that way? The first step would be blocking it out on blank paper using the...

    1979 Olympus OM-10 SLR Camera

PFFFFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Newfangled internal metering. ;) Very nice find, I love Olympus stuff. My first non-manual, no-interchangeable lens camera was Maitani's Masterpiece, the XA from that same year. Enjoy that beauty a bit and pass it on. Can't recall offhand if I had any other camera at all...

TinkerTips - Tools of the Trades, Arts, Hardware and . . .

Industrial Design and Industrial Work, Tools and Methods are entirely different things. < ludicrously simplified and wildly off topic > Industrial Design is a bit like Architecture, it can produce beautiful drawings and models of amazing things, but engineers do the heavy lifting of bringing...

That'd be a nibbler for metal removal, a seamer for bends and a pop rivet gun for easily done/undone/redone connections. Check out the marking stuff pics above and you'll see a 1/8" stub drill bit that's almost full up with drilled out pop rivet heads. Those short bits are used in sheet metal...

TinkerTips - Tools of the Trades, Arts, Hardware and . . .

Not that I know of, this place is way more trusting about edits and deletions than the MLA's 45 minute time limit. Just remove what you feel might be off topic (ill conscieved) or fix grammar and spelling errors when you catch them later on. Is that right, mods?

LCD Screen replacement for Powerbook 100

Store them bookended on an open air shelf on their sides and cracked opened a bit as well. Vinegar syndrome is contagious in enclosed spaces and unimpeded airflow across the LCD surface appears to be a preventative from what I've read. Fascinating, if really aggravating stuff that.

Sorry, being relatively serious in this one guys. Won't be doing welding tips, been there, done that, not my thing***. I've also wired up three phase for my Unisaw but won't go into that kind of thing either. Some stuff is a lot more dangerous that whacking this with the wrong that. Meanwhile...

    Upside Down PLCC Adapter/Reader

Nice work, trag. Inverted socket is how the MicroMac Performer Accelerator (and likely every other) interfaces with the PLCC(?) 68000 in the Classic.
