This will help you get MacintoshGarden files from your Mac via ftp

You could also try against the secondary FTP, see if it's the same or different, The hostname and credentials differ a bit, as well as the base path (/Garden/ does not exist). Hostname: ftp.macintosh.garden Username: mirror Password: mirror

68k NilApp: Classic Mac Application Engine

In the far, far, very distant past ... there was a project that was fairly dynamic (client/server), it allowed creating routes to pages that could be populated with images, text, files etc ... the client (native mac) would parse the data and build the ui from that. I'll see if I have it stored...

68k NilApp: Classic Mac Application Engine

In a whole, I really like the idea and can already see some uses for it personally. Especially in creating small useful knick-knacks when working on the OS 9 machine

    Fix-a-Fork

Nobody likes them, not even we do :v Anyways, I was wondering if you'd be adding something that reads the headers of the files you drag and drop on the application, sometimes I download files which names are a tad bit too long, so they are truncated ... as a busy guy, I don't have time to...

This will help you get MacintoshGarden files from your Mac via ftp

You could probably make the indexed files a bit smaller by removing all lines containing .md5 (unless you really want to validate checksums)

    FTP Question

I suspect that each subfolder of the root will parse into the megabytes range, which is a tad too much regardless of vintage or modern equipment. The re-structuring (yes there's such a project ongoing) of the archive layout takes a bit of time, mostly due to all the old stuff already inside the...

    FTP Question

I think Passive in 1.7 might work best in this case, I'll also run a test from home and see if there's anything amiss.. just in case. Did you also try the different mirrors via the web browser? The US server seems to have some issues now and then (and is currently offline). The FTP link should...

    FTP Question

Are you using Transmit 1.6 or 1.7? Passive or Active connection? The directory listings will take a substantial amount of time due to everything being placed directly inside the folders (Apps, Games, Manuals)

Software Request: PowerBook 3400c Mac OS 7.6.1 Restore CD-ROM

There's a variety of images, though I do not know which one was downloaded, so without knowing which image is potentially bad I can't remedy the issue. There should also be no need to convert toast into iso, since they are essentially the same... often renaming from .toast to .iso does the trick

Sounds like a reasonable request, I'll ping the board ;)

    MacEnvy

I used FileTyper to change the Type and Creator for MacEnvy21.cpt locally, then put it through Compact Pro 1.52, which worked great... so it's working as intended :) The Type should be PACT and Creator should be CPCT

    Adjusting user-agent strings to access Macintosh Garden 💐 🌐 💾 🌻

I reckon the issue is CSS when it comes to the aged Netscape browser, and Internet Explorer comes with a few quirks as well... as you say. If you start a download and click on say, the desktop to deactivate the IE window ... see if that boosts the download speed.

    Adjusting user-agent strings to access Macintosh Garden 💐 🌐 💾 🌻

That should be correct, though if you run into a 403 error with a vintage browser, do let me know ;)

I believe I fixed that years ago, while access is possible it doesn't look very pretty at all
