Can new PLCC chips be programmed for the SE/30 ?

The Sony SND chips are the two DIP ICs at UB10 and UB11. They are mainly interesting because they trigger the initial reset of the system when power is first applied. They have been reverse engineered since they are not very complicated. The ASC is that PLCC chip labelled 344S0063-A

SE/30 Reloaded Board - First Test

When you hear a death chime, your Mac is actually executing code, which is very good so far!

SE/30 Reloaded Board - First Test

Did you already check the PSU voltages? They tend to be a bit weak with the original PSU (even recapped ones). My SE/30 refuses to boot with low voltages, also yielding a Simasimac pattern… Otherwise, double check your socketed ICs and make sure the contacts are pristine. Also check the sockets...

SE/30 Reloaded Board - First Test

Btw. I wrote down the story of my board here: https://tinkerdifferent.com/threads/wtd-se-30-reloaded.1817/post-15366

SE/30 Reloaded Board - First Test

Where are you located? Maybe there is someone nearby with a known working, socketed board where you could test your GLUE? When my board is not working, I often put it aside for some time and come back to it later. It took me months to get my first board working!

SE/30 Reloaded Board - First Test

In my case, it (pin 11) was shorted to pin 10 or pin 12. But it would really have surprised me if be both did the same mistake… Do you have a scope to probe the signals?

SE/30 Reloaded Board - First Test

This is something I also had to go through with my first Reloaded board. I was in the same situation… It turned out to be a short of the main clock signal and ground at the FPU socket.

    Networking with a PM6500/300 and a Mac SE/30

How are you intending to do File Sharing? Using AppleTalk or TCP/IP? I‘d strongly discourage you from using TCP/IP when using LocalTalk as you do with your LC 475 and SE/30. Did you also connect the printer port of your 6500? It might be reasonable to try this to have at least a running setup...

    Networking with a PM6500/300 and a Mac SE/30

How do you bridge Ethernet and WiFi? Some bridging software doesn‘t correctly handle AARP packets, preventing AppleTalk communication. If you use NAT, it won‘t work anyway… Keep in mind that IP addresses are totally meaningless for any AppleTalk communication since it is not part of the TCP/IP...

I‘d analyze that RGL file and check if the raw binary (or something equivalent) is hidden inside. Can you upload the corrupted firmware?

    Mac SE/30 bad condition

Transplanting the components to a newly fabricated circuit board is your only option (if you are good at soldering). Otherwise, you can ask someone to do this for you or sell the Mac as-is.

Mac Classic - available sockets for MicroMac Performer?

There is no problem with the availability of PLCC sockets in general. You just need one which sticks on the non-socketed, soldered PLCC chip from above. This is a very rare use case! You could buy a few different sockets and try them. Maybe some will work.
