Update & question….

looking ahead to the option to attach a display to the enclosure, I figured out that I need a 15” 4:3 display in 1024x768.
So, found this old multisync Samsung display.
At 7€ worth to try….🍀
Here it gets strange…..attaching it to the Q800 board, the background is greenish.
Attaching, Checking it to the LCIII, all seems fine.
Concluding the display is OK,
the Q800 has an issue?

Is there a problem with the onboard graphics?
Had a look and cleaned the Vram socket and memstick.
No difference.
Anybody here can shine a light on this?
Thanks

My Studio Display is also green-ish when connected to a Quadra 700.. I believe it’s somehow related to ’sync on green’ . There is a System Extension made for the Apple Basic Color Monitor that can solve this.

Following. I have a Quadra 630 that exhibits the same green tinting, whether I use a Macintosh Color Display or an Apple Multiple Scan 15 Display.

Question……

Ive found this graphics card, and it sells as a quadra 700 card.
My wish is to apply it to this quadra 800 board.

So, what card is this / is it any good?….and would it be suitable for my 800 board? ( I suspect so).
Any input appreciated!

🍀 thanks🍀

Yeah, the only thing I can catch is "Bt" on the bigger IC near the connector side of the card. That is common for communication such as networking as I can sen those "Bt" chips on various vintage network cards. A higher resolution and clear photograph will help us to identify better.

Also, the connector appears to be one of the female DB9 networking connectors back in the day. If this were to be a video card, it wouldn't have VGA connector but a wider female DB15 video connector instead.

Hi @robin-fo, thanks for your reaction.

No sadly no hires pictures.

Was hoping someone would recognize the PCB lay-out.
Aim to pick it up this weekend, then more will be known.
I think it‘s a PCPC video card with 9-Pin TTL video connector. This one is similar:

Thanks!!
That was usefull
Looking at that this TTL card, older than the Quadra 700-800 so now figure it does not come from this era…
Looks more meant for the earlier apple models.
It would need a special monitor cable also?
Would it be worth to buy this at 20€?

Probably for the Mac II which is further back to 1989. :) TTL was popular way to present on big screens with a TTL projector device on top of the glass lamp projector unit. I remember that being done from a Mac SE in when I was in a junior high school computer literacy class.

Well, thanks for all help here!

Learned a few new thing along the road.
Just cancelled the buy, also it was about a 200km drive. Not worth the effort I suspect.

You all have a good weekend!
