Excellent work - running the entire install phase on real hw is a great step forward! (Much bigger achievement than running in emulator) I will study your findings!

On a related note, I updated the boot floppy build (powermac-nt-hal) to not include any Microsoft code at all, i.e. everything on that floppy is now built from source:

Next, I'm trying a few things:

A) Try to get NT to boot from "normal" (non-NT) ANS rom

B) Try to boot NT on emulated TNT (9500/8500)

C) Try to boot NT on real TNT (e.g. 8500) hardware.
Thank you! I might just need a small break, you might take a look and see something quickly and then I can pickup again.

TBH again like you said, getting it to a point on real hardware going through the NT setup is pretty cool! Thanks for the note about the floppy part removing Microsoft code, Ill have a look at that.

Also AMAZING work on the OS/2 PPC!!!

Quick update, I'm going to have to pause work right now because I have hit a pretty big roadblock after a successful Windows NT 4.0 on my 700.

The roadblock starts after the first reboot directly after Windows NT is installed on the internal drive. Just the fact that the install process is working is very encouraging.

@ClassicHasClass I posted my update here https://github.com/MrMacintoshBlog/powermac-nt-hal/blob/main/docs/ANS-HANDOFF-2026-11-05.md

@PappaDF Thank you also so much for your help, if you see anything that my AI tool is missing please let me know. We are getting close but also seem far away.

Windows NT bringup will be longer side discussion, and in order to not pollute this thread more than already done, I started a separate side thread about Windows NT specifically: https://tinkerdifferent.com/threads/windows-nt-4-0-on-the-apple-network-server-and-tnt-macs.5724/

Hope that everyone is ok with that.
