I wanted to replace with an ssd adapter, which is now plugged in.
When I turn it on it the fan spins for a moment, and then turns off.

I haven't removed the ssd yet, but wanted to know if there was anything else to look out for while I have it open

I put the original HDD back in and it chimes and the screen comes on, but it doesn't show the happy mac or boot into os9. I kept the CD drive out of it as I don't think it's working. Is the big SIMM in the logic board RAM or ROM? I also notice the smaller SIMM on the outside, which I assume is RAM expansion.

Does anyone have a source for a more modern SSD solution for this Mac?
