Does anyone know why a .hda file from BlueSCSI wouldn't work when trying to add it via SheepShaver preferences on a modern MacOS machine? Is there something special about adding volumes to MacOS SheepShaver that is different from the PC?

1. created volume on PC -- works fine under SheepShaver PC
2. put on SD Card
3. transferred to Mac
4. added in SheepShaver prefs on MacOS
5. start SheepShaver -- doesn't show volume
6. tried removing and putting volume in SheepShaver folder -- re-added it -- still didn't show up.

However, can change it to .dmg and open it that way within MacOS (not SheepShaver).

Anyway -- wondering if I am missing something here.

AFAIK it does just work, I have a sheep shaver app bundle that I open when i insert my SD card and it mounts the drive. First things would be to check what type of drive it is and how it was created - Disk Jockey can show you that. As with the popular emulators (BII, SheepShaver, minivmac) they don't actually emulate SCSI - they just search the first part of the image for something that looks like an HFS image and boots that.

It's perplexing. I am doing remote debugging with someone. I guess I will have to wait until I can see it first-hand. Then, I will try out DiskJockey -- but if the volume works on the PC and on BlueSCSI, I think it should probably work under MacOS SheepShaver.
