Snooper 2: Motherboard Pixel Images Extracted! ENJOY!

Starting with this post, I found that Snooper 2 has some interesting motherboard photos, worthy of extraction. If you follow that discussion, you will see that it concluded with the finding that we cannot extract them from the PICT resource of the Snooper app. The only reasonable method of extraction is via screenshot, but sadly, Snooper will only show the motherboard of the Mac you are working on at any given time. Therefore, unless someone has every vintage Mac made, it's impossible for one person to get all the screenshots. The only way is for us all to contribute screenshots taken on different Macs we own.

UPDATE: Using Wish I Were enabled me to make screenshots of all the motherboard images contained in Snooper 2, and as a result, you need only grab the ones that interest you. ENJOY!

Snooper - Macintosh Garden

Snooper 2.0 detects hardware problems and sources of intermittent failures. It performs over 200 major component tests, prints the results, and logs errors. It also does benchmark testing and reports on system configurations to allow technicians to find and fix problems quickly.

Ah, no problem! I ran across that thread a while back and remembered when I went to add the page for my site. Would the same advice apply to any mac with 47uf caps? Or would you need to check the voltage load on each board model to see if everything's in tolerance? Side note, if you've got a spare photo lying around of the SE/30 logic board (or any mac for that matter), I'm in need of photos with permission to use on my site! A list of values isn't of much use if you, for instance, don't know how to read the values on the caps to see which is which. A labeled diagram helps immensely, but alas, I don't own every mac in existence to take board photos of...

Anyways, back on topic. You can take screenshots in snooper directly? I've already got it installed on my 170 when I was trying to figure out some SCSI voodoo a while back, I was wondering what to use to take the screenshots themselves.

Thank you! I was actually thinking about just that while taking a shower this morning, prior to reading your post. I installed it in Basilisk II, set it to SE/30, restarted, launched Snooper, and boom! Got the SE/30 motherboard. So I will slowly add these to the opening post so anyone can grab and use them as they like.

Interestingly, it's more of a Mac Plus motherboard drawing than a 128K drawing due to the connectors and the two torrid coils. And yet, the RAM chips to the right of the CPU are clearly from the earlier motherboards. Have a look at the obvious differences...

Interestingly, although the graphic depicts RAM soldered to the board, it's in four rows like a Plus!
