Anyone get AppleShare/Appletalk working with a 2MB Macintosh Portable.

I have only 2 MB and I'm running System 7.0.1.
I tried to get System 6.0.8 but I can't get this to work...get System Errors frequently...

I have tried both BlueScsi and ZuluScsi.
I have set the "MacPlus" setting in the .ini file.
I have installed the DaynaPort SCSI/Link.
I can get the PING to work but nothing shows in the Chooser.
I can take the same SD card and put in my SE/30 (much more RAM however) and it works -- shows my shares in Chooser.

Setup:
In "Network" I have chosen the "EtherTalk Alternative".
AppleTalk Version is 58. EtherTalk Version is 2.5.
MacTCP set up and PING works.
The Log files for the BlueSCSI and the ZuluScsi both show connections to my network.

I see the warning on the BlueScsi documentation that says it needs 2.5 MB..... perhaps that is the constraint that I'm running into.... but I have no way to update the RAM (hoping that MacEffects can remedy this in the future).

Thanks for any direction. The purpose is to be able to share files to the portable using my Netatalk Server.

I would suggest trying to emulate what you are trying to do in SNOW EMU using a mac plus to see if its a ram problem or not. It might not work but its worth a shot. Also I kinda have to use SNOW EMU just to put images or applications on my portable because I think my floppy drive is dead. Even after cleaning.

I have the same configuration (2mb) and can't get DaynaPort to work either; I just figured it was the well-documented RAM requirement. Would be nice if those RAM cards returned to production, although I guess there's a sweet spot you want to stay under to avoid a system slowdown.

Anyone know if that RAM design works? is it production? Looks like it is in testing.

As for testing, I have the same .hda that I use in the BlueSCSI that I take from the Mac Portable and move it to my MacPlus (with 4MB) and it easily accesses my AppleTalk shares.... This further supports the memory issue.

Weirdly, there is occasionally a very brief glimpse of the shares in Chooser on the Macintosh Portable; they show up for about 5-10 seconds and then vanish. Can't replicate in any way but does happen sometimes right after boot if I look in the Chooser.

You can spend hours troubleshoot this stuff.... but in the end it looks like it is a total memory issue (as clearly documented... but I had hoped it was not true) .
