Disk Jockey Jr 2.0.0, now on Linux!

Unfortunately that won't work - the G5 is big-endian, and most POWER9 systems are usually configured to run little-endian. If you do make a source code release, I'd be very interested in playing with it.

    Any interest in Palm Pilots?

I like NetBSD more on the J690. I always thought the SuperH should have done better in the market. They're surprisingly nice to program. I've toyed with getting a Zodiac, but the sellers generally want stupid money, and I'm not *that* interested. For my Palm development, I usually crossbuild...

Disk Jockey Jr 2.0.0, now on Linux!

Is there any source code? My daily driver workstation is a Fedora POWER9 (ppc64le), so those won't do. Thanks for the port!

    Any interest in Palm Pilots?

The 690 was a lot better than the 680, but on the whole I wasn't impressed with CE. I did land a verrrry interesting CE device recently, however. More when it arrives. I do have one of the MIPS IBM WorkPads (see https://oldvcr.blogspot.com/2022/09/the-mips-thinkpad-kind-of.html ). The keyboard...

    Any interest in Palm Pilots?

I have a decent collection of Palms: a Casio OEM version of the Zoomer, Palm Computing's first device an original USR Pilot 1000 (upgraded with a 5000 card), Palm modem, Mac converter, cradle Palm VII in its original box and all accessories, mostly unused (very expensive to use back in the day)...

    Fix-a-Fork

You should rename it to "Fix a Fork Fast" so you can make the command line version "faff." Then we can faff around with programs. Thank you, I'll get my coat.

Very nice! I have a working TechStep myself but this would make a lovely backup.

MDD FW400 and DP 1.42 Ghz from FW800

The processor could be getting hot simply because it ends up in an infinite loop or some such. For example, when my Quad G5 machinechecks, it just goes into a loop and the fans run at max. It may well be the CPU board at fault, but the CPU card heating up wouldn't be definite evidence.

MDD FW400 and DP 1.42 Ghz from FW800

Interesting. I haven't observed any such issue with my own MDD, though I've been its only owner (I bought it new) and it has a Sonnet dual 1.8GHz CPU board in it now (it was originally a dual 1.25).

[Solved] Mac iici boots to gray screen

How is the RAM configured in the SIMM slots? Are they all the same specification? Do you have them in matching groups of four?

I Need Help Getting A Video Signal To My G4 MDD Using An ATX Power Supply.

Still has an ADC port, but it might work without ADC voltage.

I Need Help Getting A Video Signal To My G4 MDD Using An ATX Power Supply.

No, actually, the one on the left is ADC, the one on the right is DVI. That looks like an ATI Radeon 9000 PRO. The ADC voltage is provided by that extra little set of "fingers" next to the AGP connector. I would think it would work without ADC voltage on the DVI port, but I've never tried...

I Need Help Getting A Video Signal To My G4 MDD Using An ATX Power Supply.

I can't tell from your picture: is that an ADC or a DVI connection? What connectors are on your card? If it has a DVI or VGA port, any difference? The power supply provides the ADC voltage, which you'd need to convert from ATX (the ATX-to-G4 converters I've seen and that you appear to have are...

An Apple district manager's Macintosh Portable in 1989-91 (featuring GEIS AppleLink and a look at System 7.0 alpha)

This is a bit of a grab bag, but some of you will remember my DVT prototype Macintosh Portable (happily running with Androda's RAM card). It was formerly used by an Apple district manager and I wanted to back it up and then start digging into what was there. Well, that's all done, and it...

Too bad, but worth hearing, since the usual conventional wisdom is combo drive = OS9.

    Odd PRAM Battery Issue

That would be good voltage. When it's in the holder, do you get the same voltage testing the contact pads around it? Maybe the battery holder is bad instead.
