    I just can't say NO - B&W G3

I have a Yosemite similar to that. It was originally running NetBSD but now I think I'll try slapping the new build of Windows NT 4 on it.

    My very first NeXTStation

Nice setup. If I were to get one I'd get the mag cube just for historical value, but the slab is likely more practical.

Looking for force quit software for OS 9 and earlier

That would be similar in effect to running something like MacsBug and doing an 'es' when you get an exception. It probably has a similar success rate.

Thoughts On The Global Tech Outage?

Our medical records system has been down all day here. Fortunately I don't have any patients scheduled, but I can't review any charts, either.

Making bootable disks for the Canon Cat

Aw, thanks! It was fun. There is more to explore on this system.

Making bootable disks for the Canon Cat

Ouch! Hopefully your drive head didn't get caught on anything, which seems to be the way that kills drives. I've got to try to build Dwight Elvey's floppy converter and plug a Gotek into it one of these days. The Canon drives suck.

Making bootable disks for the Canon Cat

I was able to make, and then hack, disk images for the Canon Cat, Jef Raskin's 1987 "work processor." Despite what Canon sold it as, though, Raskin always intended it as a fully working general purpose computer. It has a 68000 CPU and its ROMs are primarily programmed in tForth, a...

    Weird 5,2 Powerbook G4 issues...

Those look like proper numbers, so I don't think the charging circuit is necessarily at fault. I would really try it with a different battery if you can. In my experience, charging issues were more often due to battery defects than logic board ones, and they're certainly easier to replace.

PowerMac 6500 PCI graphics card options? (Feeling overwhelmed)

I have a /275 and a TAM, though the 275 has a Twin Turbo card for video and the TAM doesn't have any cards installed (just CSII Ethernet), so I guess it will be worth observing them to see.

    Weird 5,2 Powerbook G4 issues...

Are you sure the cycle count is accurate? 64 cycles sounds suspiciously "even."

Comm Slot II 10/100 Ethernet Cards

Realistically I don't think they could leave many lines off. The Tulip in the CSII Ethernet card is an off-the-shelf part and it would likely have made it more expensive to synthesize any missing signals, which would have defeated the purpose.

What pinball games for Classic 68k and Power PC can you recommend?

As an owner of a Stern Sopranos and Williams ST:TNG, I haven't been happy with many pinball simulations. I like The Pinball Arcade, but that's obviously very new. If I were to pick for classic Mac, though, it would be the Pro Pinball series, especially Fantastic Journey. It has the best physics...

Mystic PPC WITH Apple IIe card

Nice work, though I'm assuming that means it works with the PowerPC card deactivated.

Comm Slot II 10/100 Ethernet Cards

Excellent work, especially since I'm out of CSII Ethernet cards between my TAM and 6500. That said, I don't recall them being speed demons on either system. It did seem a little sprightlier in BeOS.

Looks like a good meet. Too bad about the weather (and being on the wrong coast :D ).

Looking for a nice picture of Portable CDEV 1.3

I have an Androda screen grabber, but my prototype Portable is non-backlit.

I Need Help Viewing Old Emails On My G4 MDD

You could try Tenfourbird. This is a rebuild of Thunderbird 38 using TenFourFox code. It may be recent enough to open that.

Oddest thing I ever say in a decade using an SE30

Theoretically the message in a system error dialogue can be modified by altering the system error alert table. See Inside Macintosh's System Error Handler. It's possible something had altered it or stomped on that block of memory.

    Pi-hole and https proxy

I use Crypto Ancienne, but then, I wrote it. Note that the browser needs to support it (or at least be tricked into supporting it, since HTTPS over HTTP is inherently insecure - see documentation for details). https://github.com/classilla/cryanc
