    Depends on the board you have. There are three crystals in the machine you have, depends on the motherboard type you have as well. Y2 is responsible for CPU speed. If you have a 6MHz 286, Y2 is 12Mhz. If you have an 8MHz 286, you have a 16MHz one. Y3 is always a 32.768KHz crystal (used for the...

    ...ouch! That is well and truly destroyed! I hope the Sony sound chip is salvageable from there. You'll need to source one of the serial chips as new old stock if the legs have been eaten away, but at least everything else looks to have been spared!

    Nomenclature for PCB silkscreen time! R = Resistor C = Capacitor Y = Crystal / Oscillator FB = Ferrite Bead U = integrated circuit J = Header pins/connector Hope that helps!

    Well, the easiest thing to do, would be to get hold of a System 7 ulity disk image, and then you can write the image to the floppy directly - do you have any other macs other then the plus?
