SCSI emulator for Mac Plus with '030 accelerator?

I recently installed my Performer clone accelerator into my Plus and have found it seems to be incompatible with my BlueSCSI v1.1. Does anyone know if there are any SCSI emulators that work with an accelerated Plus? I know the Plus's SCSI implementation is a bit non-standard so they have...

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

Another alternative until the WarpSE is completed is a MicroMac Performer clone. If you are into tinkering it's a fun project, I did a write-up (link) to my build.

PowerCache Card in IIci -- Why So Slow?

Unfortunately I don't have a pic of the accelerator compared to stock, and somehow my Speedometer records file became corrupted, so I don't have easy access to that info without re-running the tests. The increase was significant though. The pic below is from an accelerator benchmark thread on...

Mac IIsi death chime after home curcuit breaker trips

Well I spoke too soon, shortly after that May 2nd post the machine began the death chime again and would not boot. I put it on the back burner since I did not have time to work on it. I decided to work on it some more recently, I replaced the ALS245 chips with new chips from DigiKey, there is...

    Mac Plus/SE Performer accelerator build

Thank you James! Correct on the solder paste. I ran a bead along the pads, set the chip in place, and used hot air. After using hot air it looked like there was a bit of un-melted solder paste behind the legs, that is why I followed up on each leg with my iron. That seemed to pull the...

    Mac Plus/SE Performer accelerator build

I just finished my build of a Performer accelerator clone for the Mac Plus/SE. Enormous thanks to @Bolle , he reverse-engineered an original accelerator and posted the board file online, along with the GAL files. Thanks to DrGonzo, his thread on 68kMLA about his Performer build inspired me to do...

Mac 512ke HyperDrive 20 project complete

A couple years ago I bought a 512k with a non-working HyperDrive 20 internal HD. On first inspection it was obvious a component on the MiniScribe 8425 controller board had failed and damaged the board. I found a replacement drive, sold as working, but the new drive also showed no signs of...

Any SE/30 reloaded group buys planned?

I'm fine to do this sooner than later, even if I don't find enough for a group buy, I'm sure I could sell them at cost to other enthusiasts in rather short order. I'll have to sit down and do some research, I know there was a prior group buy thread, I'm sure someone knows exactly what to order...

Any SE/30 reloaded group buys planned?

Is anyone currently planning an SE/30 reloaded group buy? If not, would anyone be interested if I put together an order?

IIsi onboard RAM replacement - will these work?

I am looking to replace the onboard RAM of my IIsi, I believe some of the chips may be failing. I found some chips on eBay that I think will work, but I'm hoping someone with more knowledge can confirm. My IIsi currently has OKI M514256A-80J chips, the ones I found are Fujitsu MB81C4256A-70PJ...

Upgrading IIsi onboard RAM to 4MB

Does overclocking to 25mhz cause a problem with NuBus video cards using a PDS -> NuBus adapter?

Mac IIsi death chime after home curcuit breaker trips

Responding to my post in case someone runs across this in a search. Death chime fixed! Hopefully this info helps other people with the same issue. Steps taken: Re-flow all the onboard RAM, the legs of the chips closest to the leaking caps showed corrosion. This did not fix the problem, but...

Upgrading IIsi onboard RAM to 4MB

I read somewhere that you can take the 8 chips off a 1mb RAM SIMM and use those to replace the onboard 1mb. Is this correct? I have some known-good 8-chip 1mb 80ns SIMMs, and this seems like the easiest way for me to get known-good chips to replace the onboard RAM.

PowerCache Card in IIci -- Why So Slow?

For reference, here are Speedometer 4.02 results from my SE/30. with a 40mhz PowerCache and a 50mhz PowerCache. The machine has 8mb RAM, I think these results were under Sys 7.5.5. 50mhz is on the left, 40mhz on the right. Both cards had the control panel installed, with both PowerCache and...

    Corroded legs on IIsi CPU

I'm doing some troubleshooting on my IIsi board. I put it under the microscope this morning and took a bunch of photos so I can sit down later and take a very close look for broken traces, however as I was taking the photos all the traces looked in excellent condition, even the ones around the...

Mac IIsi death chime after home curcuit breaker trips

I just finished recapping my IIsi logic board and PSU yesterday and it was working great. I had powered it up and down at least 10 times, it worked great each time. This morning I had it powered on and a circuit breaker in our apartment tripped. This particular breaker tends to trip...

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

I had a guy solder this male-to-male adapter onto my Plus CPU to mount an accelerator, unfortunately that accelerator seems to have died. It should work pretty well, but still not a simple install since you need to solder to each leg of the CPU, but it does allow the accelerator to be easily...
