Installing Mac OS X Leopard on the Apple TV (1st generation)

Yeah, I don't think Monterey likes the disk image. I had to do it from my 2009 Mac Pro with Mojave.

BlueSCSI - Open, Low Cost, DIY SCSI to SD device

Awesome. I’ll print them out so they’ll be ready when my PCBs come in. I’ll let you know if I run into any fit issues

"Platinum" PLA for Macs and Apple ][s

Yeah, unfortunately, it looks like shipping to the US doubles the cost. Anyone find a US source for that filament? Also curious to see the results. My black Mystic back plate is less than ideal! :)

BlueSCSI - Open, Low Cost, DIY SCSI to SD device

Sure. If you post them, I can create a PR in the GitHub repo to add them to the 3d printed directory. Or if there's anything else I can do to lighten the load...

BlueSCSI - Open, Low Cost, DIY SCSI to SD device

Oh, didn't realize you bought the kit, Thought you had done the DIY version where you just got the PCB from @eric. I also got one included with my pre-assembled order from @torbar. Maybe he has the STL files we could use.

BlueSCSI - Open, Low Cost, DIY SCSI to SD device

Yeah, struggling to find the STL files for the 1.1 version. @rikerjoe - it looks like you had the case for the DB25 version. Where'd you get that? Looks like the STLs in the git repo is still just for 1.0 version.

    RASCSI Internal holder?

Makes sense. Somehow my childhood fear of plugging a SCSI device into a running machine made me concerned this would be a problem!

    RASCSI Internal holder?

Does the RaSCSI bot up fast enough to be used internally? I use mine externally and power it up a few minutes early with a USB battery pack. I guess the machine, if no other SCSI drives are present, will just wait for the RaSCSI to boot and mount the default config and associated drives?

New BlueSCSI PDS Card slot bracket for Macintosh SE and SE/30

FYI, seemed like a lot of supports, so I modified the design to allow it to be printed without the need for large amounts of supports. Printed and in use in my SE/30 with no issues. It takes less time to print, and uses a pin in the back corner to hold the card in place, which seemed to work...

    2008 iMac 24” Restoration Journey

Had the same thing with a 27". Got it to boot once to blank gray screen, then couldn't get anything but a black screen. GPU failures are common, and it appears to often be related to bad solder joints. That's when I found @JDW 's series on YouTube about the iMac GPU bake. It sounds absurd...

    MessagePad locked by PIN?

@splorp, I finally got around to setting things up to allow me to try out BatteringRamPro. Thanks for the tips. Just writing this followup in case someone else comes here trying to do the same and was in the same ignorant state I was in. I couldn't figure out how to load packages directly...

    MessagePad 120

It says it only affects 2000/2100/eMate, but I'm unable to set the current date on my 110/120/130. Is there a patch for them?

    PowerBook power adapter compatibility?

Sounds like maybe a candidate for a Resource page. I just responded to someone on reddit who was about to try to hook an RCA composition video cable to his 24V power supply to try to power on his iBook...

LC575 Display Color issue - no red output (update: resolved with reflow of analog board connections)

In case anyone runs into a similar issue, I was able to resolve it using Branchus' suggestion of looking at the analog board connectors. I reflowed all of the connectors between the CRT and the analog board (paying particular attention to the red connections. When I reassembled after reflowing...

I'll start the thread with pic of my eMate in its glass case.

I always remember seeing the orange replacement pens, but didn't realize that was the color of the prototypes.

Ugh. Sorry...I don't know how I missed it. Not sure I'll be desoldering the LED, but I wondered if that might be the solution. Thanks for the information!

LC575 Display Color issue - no red output (update: resolved with reflow of analog board connections)

Just realized I never posted my update. The booting issue was a user error on my part. I hadn't formatted the SD card properly. My CC works great with 7.1. Up next will be a recap of the analog and logic boards, and hopefully updating it to 640x480 once the analog board is cleaned up. As...

Opening an external LaCie Tsumami case

I picked up one of these a while back and was thinking of doing something similar. I must say, they yellow worse than the space key on my IIc... I'll definitely be using this guide to help me disassemble before retrobrighting... Thanks for documenting!

BlueSCSI - Open, Low Cost, DIY SCSI to SD device

@eric, I can't seem to find documentation on this, but I could have missed it. I'm installing the BlueSCSI in my SE, and had my old SCSI2SD plugged into the HD activity LED on the front if the case. Is there somewhere on the old 1.0 version of the bluescsi that I can tie into that indicates...

    PowerBook 540c screen in a 520c?

I've only used the case from a 540 to make my 540c (with PPC upgrade), which was bought at an estate sale in pieces, whole again. But I think the 520, 520c, 540, and 540c all share the same model number. If it's the same resolution, I'm guessing it will be a direct swap. While you're in...
