    Macintosh IIsi - VGA Video?

Is it possible to get VGA video out from a stock IIsi? I’ve tried a DB15 to VGA adapter on multiple LCD monitors without success. What’s the trick here? Alternatively, I have a RGBtoHDMI; maybe this is a better option?

I wonder if it could be VRAM (or VRAM related traces).

I probably don't use mine as much as @Elemenoh but this has been my experience as well.

Vintage computer / recycling stores near LA or Las Vegas

Those vintage computer shops in SF must be a best kept secret. You can’t find even retro video games stores here.

    Brainstorm Clone?

What’s the next step to having the image interpreted into something actionable - is there a particular community we could offer a bounty to?

    Brainstorm Clone?

@ScutBoy made a brainstorm available for decapping and imaging in collaboration with @MacEffects. Kay recently sent his faulty brainstorm to me. Let's see if there's any progress which can be offered from the decapping images; I'm not really convinced there's much more I can offer with the...

Solution for sharing a keyboard & mouse between USB & ADB?

Yes, but my preliminary testing highlighted that I had produced costly trash.

    Metcal SP-440 Self-Contained Desolder System

I ended up purchasing one of these so that I can no longer need to have a Hakko FR-301 obnoxiously buzzing a foot or less from my face while working — I can put the Metcal pump unit below my desk on a concrete patio paver to further deaden transmission. Mine came with the filters but I imagine...

    Unresponsive 160 Quantum ProDrive ELS

I've already tried this. Once for an hour (which had little to no effect) and a second time for 24+ hours. After the second attempt the drive will spin up, click a little, and then spin down with no further activity.

    Unresponsive 160 Quantum ProDrive ELS

As the title says, I have an unresponsive Quantum ProDrive ELS. This drive is from my family's 1993 LC 520 and has a lot of old school projects and silly doodles on it. As a result, I'm interested in restoring the information. I see there's a spacer available on eBay for this specific drive. I...

Famicom — FDS Drive Calibration (WIP) - Read / Write Head Alignment

Head alignment on the Famicom Disk System drive is mission critical. Also, the level of tolerance for head calibration is minuscule at 50 micrometers (0.05mm). In my search to simplify and quantify this calibration process I have developed several techniques. However, I believe my newest...

QuickTake 100 - proactive maintenance required?

They’re kind of annoying to open up - inside you’ll find a handful of small electrolytic capacitors. I haven’t heard of these cameras needing to be recapped, which makes sense to me - relatively low voltage and very little heat build up. You’re probably better leaving it alone.

Famicom — FDS Drive Calibration (WIP) - Motor Speed Calibration

Epilepsy Warning This guide utilizes a free stroboscopic app at frequencies of approximately 7 Hz. If you're at risk of seizures or epilepsy then please proceed with caution. It's possible to follow this guide without using a stroboscopic light. Calibrating the motor can be done precisely with...

    Fanny Mac Clone (Community Feedback)

Totally an option. A few considerations that come to mind: Some analog boards may be in need of repair and the fan could cause stress on an already strained system. I believe I’ve read in the past that fans can introduce interference to early power supplies but that is entirely anecdotal at...

    Fanny Mac Clone (Community Feedback)

Adding the pass through power switch is trivial - it’s just a power cable cut in two with a switch in between. Using a 12v fan adds the requirement for a small (e.g., 150mA) power supply. The module will block some of the air flow but I don’t believe it will have a significant decrease in...

Pretty confident that the original is 80mm from mounting point to mounting point. I’ll confirm general dimensions this evening. Fixed, thank you both!
