@Drake, about 45 but you'd have to use flat tab connections! 🤪 I guess that's around... 10,000 mAh! That's like 2x the next best eBay option (C4.5S(T1) 6V4.5Ah)!

Here's an open-source 3D reproduction of the Macintosh Portable battery (M5137) available to download on Thingiverse. Big thanks to @alxlab for loaning his battery to me for 3D modeling!

    Multimeter recommendations: auto-ranging?

Auto-ranging is a must have for me. I grew up without it and left those days behind! I’ve been using the Fluke 101 and feel it’s a nice option.

Mac 128k/512k/Plus Logic Board Cable to ATX (Video + Audio) - The Continuation

More information about the power and connectivity was requested, so here it is! First, I am operating my power supply from a VARIAC on a ground isolated transformer. Occasionally this includes a dim bulb tester to spare untested machines from burning themselves out on first boot. After...

Open a .hda file in Basilisk II?

MacOS may be hiding the real extension. As a result you may be inadvertently renaming your files to “myfile.img.hda”. Check for the extension setting in finder or have a quick Google. Setting the extension to “img” has worked for me in the past (though it’s been nearly a year).

Buying a Mac Plus - Where to Start?

if it helps at all, my personal rule is no more than $70 for a working, good condition Plus by itself. I'll go up to $120 USD for the keyboard and mouse. It's important to note: $120 is on the lower side for a complete working Mac Plus, but I live in an area where there are a lot of e-waste...

Buying a Mac Plus - Where to Start?

My $0.02 💸 As another perspective, you may want to drive a bargain on the flakey Craigslist Plus. Specifically, if you have any plans to repair or learn more about the Macintosh Plus, it’s great to have a sacrificial computer to learn on. That being said, if you’re exclusively looking for a...

Got it, I'll bring it up with the other board members and see if there's room to adjust the character limit.

    Help diagnosing a Mac Plus

Ah, a platinum plus. I only have a few but they are beautiful when the case is in good condition like yours. Congrats!

    Help diagnosing a Mac Plus

Just my $0.02 but I think 0.5v is a bit too low. I still think you should visit the voltage adjustment pot on R45 (or R51? I forget, google is good). You want your 12v line to be closer to 12v without your 5v line exceeding 5v. I'm not shocked that your floppy drive doesn't work great but it is...

    Help diagnosing a Mac Plus

A few thoughts, this is not medical or legal advice and should not be considered investment guidance: You are missing the checkered background on your happy mac and it makes me think there's a a RAM issue. Try with no RAM or 1 bank of RAM. You will need to adjust your resistor. You can swap...

Mac 128k/512k/Plus Logic Board Cable to ATX (Video + Audio)

I do a little bit of work on compact mac logic boards and found I needed a convenient way to power them up and get video without fussing with a case, so I made this adapter which allows me to use an ATX power supply and an RGBtoHDMI. Referring to the schematics for the 512k, you will see the...

    SuperDrive (floppy) maintenance

Thanks for linking, @alxlab. For anyone in North America, @Drake may have a few left from his 3D printing test; they came out in amazing quality: Left is my design from Drake's 3D printer, right is the original Apple gear. The gears from Shapeways work just fine but they are not as high...

Reverse PAL / GAL Truth Tables

A few of members are already familiar with truth tables and reversing PAL / GAL chips. If you're among the less familiar, these are chips with several inputs and several outputs. The output is dependent on the combination of input signals to individual pins — all of which can be customized. This...
