Just a though: they were linux distros for PowerPC Macs back in the day when this monitor was current. So, if this monitor was (still is?) supported by linux distros, all the information on how to initialize it and how to set it up (geometry settings are done in software), all is in the linux...

Beware that the port has to fit physically in the keyboard enclosure. And it’s a tight fit, better check out all the dimensions! (I once "borrowed" an ADB port from a 6200 motherboard to repair an AEK II, I was able to solder it just fine but it didn’t fit at all)

Or just buy an IDE SSD, they’re expensive, but maybe less than trying a whole bunch of adapters?

AdaFruit has USB hub breakout boards, in 2 ports and 4 ports variants.

AdaFruit sells premade USB-C to barrel jack cables. They’re only available in the standard USB-PD voltages, but they seems like a simple solution. Just chop off the barrel jack and wire the right connector for your retro device! (I plan to do that for my Apple //c)

They may be the same model used in the G4 Cube, and in the Cube there is an interface board that convert the connection to standard Molex & IDE…

AFAIK the PSU of the TAM is the same PSU used in the Power Mac 6500 and you can install two PCI cards in the 6500. Or you can always replace the TAM PSU with a modern one, surely you can find one providing more power for less volume (and heat). BTW, I think @Action Retro had already done that...

The firmware updater seems to have disappeared from Apple’s website, but archive.org has a copy (direct download). It’s in French, but Le journal du lapin describes exactly what you want to do!

Speaking of games: Alien: Isolation is a must play! Available on a lot of platforms, even on iOS.

Better specs and more compact than the original PSU. Speaking of original PSU: it can handle an accelerator card and a graphics card! Back in the day these expansions never required replacing the PSU.
