    G5 7.2 DP won't boot

Back in late 2003 I was given the offer to buy a dead G5 Dual 1.8, for very very little money. It was doing what yours is, power on, immediate protection shutdown. I removed 1 processor in turn and discovered one of them had a short . One cpu had visibly blown mosfet or transistor . I...

    IIci with no SCSI

It's possible the scsi chip is blown but I would look also around UD11 (VIA) , as there are 3 caps there that can leak and do damage there, and some control signals for scsi pass through that IC.

    Strange Plus Mod?!

That looks like a capacitor, maybe some sort of hacky way to stabilise screen during floppy access , rather than address the fault directly.

    IBM PS/1 2011

Yes, but some 16bit cards may interfere with the floppy. Here is a picture with a tandy style sound card

    IBM PS/1 2011

I did something like this a few years back, mainly to use cheaper sound cards but it works with a modified XTIDE bios and also works with ISA SCSI cards and network cards. Here is the github and gerber files if you wanted to make your own, its very simple...

    Help with XT Turbo Clone

Correct, battery is not needed to post. Not sure how you select video mode (MDA,CGA, VGA) , if its soft set with the FE2010A.

    Help with XT Turbo Clone

No doubt you have checked your work, but it may be worth checking those resistor solder points with a multimeter to make sure their is continuity from there to where the tracks go. Also those DIP sockets don't look the best, the fact that it does not beep at all would make me want to check the...

Amiga 500 won't boot if keyboard is connected

Yes and it's a more desirable keyboard . I suppose you need to findout if keyboard is holding reset low or shorting 5v down maybe isolate the reset pin( or wire) and see if amiga comes up And measure for shorts across caps , or across 5v snd ground pins 1 DATA 2 CLOCK 3 RESET 4 +5V 5 key...

Amiga 500 won't boot if keyboard is connected

Could you swap the pcb and cable for one of the working ones , or are they different style/manufacturer keyboards?

    1987 Macintosh Plus (Platinum)

Yep, I gathered that , it's a pity https://hrdiemen.com/ is down . That may have the schematic of the flyback . I've searched webarchive and Google cache with no hits.

    1987 Macintosh Plus (Platinum)

Better and much worse, there should be no connection at all between 1 and 5 for a start . Not to mention the rest .

    1987 Macintosh Plus (Platinum)

Damn, unless they are rectified coil output , have you tried a diode test across the pins either way, it's the wrong coil anyway but might explain why you are not getting continuity and may explain the cap popping
  20. RetroTheory

    1987 Macintosh Plus (Platinum)

That makes no sense to me, even if it's the wrong coil they should not be the same. I can send you a tested flyback if you want
