Dell R520 - The expansion continues...

For those that are unaware, the TD Game server is run on a Dell R520 - as shown here: https://tinkerdifferent.com/threads/tinkerdifferent-game-server-now-testing.2909/ In modern terms, it's ancient, was destined for the e-waste until i rescued it. I mean, who'd want a 10-core, 20 thread...

    Macintosh IIfx - SRAM compatibility

On the IIfx and the IIfx Reloaded, the two Peripheral Interface Chips use a 65C02 core running at 4MHz - they require SRAM to operate. Here's a quick list of pin compatible 32K x 8 SRAM chips. Manufacturer Part Number Lyontek LY62256 Sony CXK58257AP Toshiba TC55257BFL NEC...

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

@JDW Might be better placed to help, as his earlier revision board, once built, was booted successfully - James, did you test the floppy functionality? I can't see anything wrong with the IWM/SWIM routing @JdM74 did you get the board made yourself, or from MacEffects?

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Hello chaps! It does indeed look like the Gerber export didn't include that, for whatever reason - here's what i'm seeing in Sprint: Circled is the middle pin, which is very much connected to the ground plane - luckily, as you pointed out, this is an easy fix - solder a bodge wire to the...

    The 'PRX350' indicates it's a 350MHz G3.

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

There was a minor revision recently to add a breakout address pin to support the use of the larger ROM from the classic, but no - the MacEffects boards are a later revision than the original black and gold ones. I've checked the gerbers and they look fine from there so it must be a manufacturing...

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Well, that's one way to decap an IC! My recommendation would be to build a new one from a PIC16F88 - not sure if there's anyone local to you that might have one - @max1zzz might have a DIP one floating around?

Sad IIsi chime with no video

Well, the RBV is a good place to start testing continuity - after all, if theres an address or data line that's broken then it has no access to RAM which it needs for the display.

Sad IIsi chime with no video

The RBV chip used in the IIsi is the same as used in the IIci - I have a pinout for this ASIC, if this helps with your troubleshooting: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NDIA5orTwraRmOUgzrKxWYXcf2AXdULkdwUm020HdXI/edit#gid=731661632

Portable SLEEPS even when it shouldn't? [SOLVED]

Hi James - Just adding my 2 cents here. I must say that although I too feel frustration when I sometimes ask a question and don't get a response, I can understand that there are a number of factors in play here; 1) Macintosh Portables are RARE machines, so the subset of people that have them...

Logic Board - Macintosh Classic Reloaded

The SND chips are indeed the same on the Iisi, however the Iisi is the first machine that used the EGRET for RTC and ADB instead of discrete chips so there is no RTC for you to salvage off that board, unfortunately.
