This is very cool. I'd be down for a kit when they become available again.
Like @eric I have an HD20 that I'm sure has a limited half-life, so I'll be watching for the "Mega" as well.
The answer in this particular case was Xylene!
IF the parts fit together tightly, just hold them together and use a fine modelers brush to let capillary action draw the adhesive into the crack. Sets within a minute, and basically as strong as the unbroken plastic within 20 minutes or so...
I've come across a nice little Sparcstation 1+ but it has some pieces of the top case that have broken off - before I got it :)
Luckily, I have the pieces and so I'd like to glue them back on to improve the cosmetics as best I can.
I've had recommendations to use either MEK or Xylene as they...
Yes - that was me. Glad to hear the board is working well for you. I didn't think there would be any problems, but it's always nice to hear things are working OK and you are a "happy customer"! :)
If you use the Apple Portrait on that card, it will have a slight "shimmer" to it, I'm guessing due to the slight difference in refresh rates - 67Mhz vs 75Mhz IIRC.
It does work though, since I had the same card at one time with the Apple display.
I have a 13"(?) Trinitron I got as a HS graduation present to take to college. It was also the monitor for my Apple ][+. No remote, woodgrain, a line of physical buttons for each channel, with little plastic inserts to show the channel numbers. Still works! I use it on my NES among other things.
I have one of these. Got it as a "surprise" in a lot of stuff. Smells horribly of bad caps- I havent turned it on.
I need to get after it, but I'm a little intimidated based on the videos I've seen.
The trick on some drives is knowing which set of pins is 4, and which set is one. Thank $deity for old-age near-sightedness sometimes to try and read the markings!
OK - so during this I had the original spinning disk in the machine (SCSI ID 1) while the BlueSCSI had a higher address (tried both 6 and 2).
The BlueSCSI was in an external enclosure. Once I disconnected the internal drive so the BlueSCSI was the only thing on the bus, then it came up...
I'm trying to build an image for NeXT black hardware on BlueSCSI. Latest firmware.
I've used both the NeXT tool to build disks as well as the image @Drake called out from Winworld that is said to work on BlueSCSI for NeXT.
The image is seen by the NeXT as a drive, but in both cases its seen...
It's the Rocket 33Mhz. I upped the OS on the IIci to System 7, and re-installed the RocketShare software I have (1.3.1) Everything came up roses!
Now to decide if I'm going to keep it or not... If there's any interest out there, let me know.
