Ridiculous things you want to try and do...

That would be super cool actually! If you manage to get it working, I hope you share some photos/videos here of it. Which model Newton do you have?

Ridiculous things you want to try and do...

I can't justify trying to afford any of these setups (never mind not really having the time to dedicate to such) but it would be so cool to experiment with one of those computer controlled Celestrons someday! It's amazing the affordable and advanced amount of technology we have available to our...

Experiments with the Apple QuickTake Cameras...

And the winner is.... QuickTake 200! (for night shots at least) On the way back home, a house was all decked out with lights so I stopped over to grab a few quick pictures since I had both the 150 and 200 on hand for comparison sake. Mind you, these are taken with the hi-res mode on both...

Ridiculous things you want to try and do...

Realize as of late I have a laundry list of somewhat ridiculous things I'd like to try. If you've seen some of my posts, I've already started making my way though some of them (Panoramas made using a QuickTake, modern manipulated Newton MessagePad Art, etc.) but one in particular I'd like to...

Experiments with the Apple QuickTake Cameras...

After toying around with these cameras for the better part of this year (upon learning of their existence) today is the first time I've bothered with the lower resolution setting on the 150 and much to my surprise, it's not nearly as bad as I had expected. Sure you lose a little image...

    New uses for old MessagePads

Thanks! I’ll have to give that a try. This mornings modernized NewtPaint drawing art cover: Original MessagePad drawing:

    New uses for old MessagePads

I’ve exported images from the Newton to my 1400c but since they’re so small and the camera captures such a large image it works well.

    New uses for old MessagePads

Created another one, it's kind of fun to do (these faux band names are completely fictional btw, at least as far as I know):

    New uses for old MessagePads

Yeah, just playing around and nothing more. Will probably try to create some more art pieces in general that aren't targeted at being a faux album though, it's fun!

    New uses for old MessagePads

Have been experimenting with ideas on possible modern things to use the Newton for. Created a concept album cover drawn on the MessagePad 130 with NewtPaint then captured with an iPhone, manipulated with Glitch and Snapseed and this is the outcome. Direct from Newton before and after results...

What are your vintage grail items?

Doesn't @Drake have a Christmas tree made out of them? or are those just basic Macs :D

What are your vintage grail items?

I’ve seen really nice TAMs list for $1,000 and I don’t think that’s all that bad of a price considering what it is. No personal desire to own one but can recognize its special place in history and appreciate it for what it is.

Using an Adaptec PowerDomain 2930 SCSI Card in Mac OS X with my Nikon LS-2000 Film Scanner

Love it! Also, that last scan is my favorite for sure, very cool capture. Hard to believe it's 1970, he must have kept those slides in great condition! You're in for a lot of fun with that setup :D I'm all out of slides to scan with mine.

This will be the first brand new Mac that I’ve purchased in 20-years. Granted it’s not for me as it’s a Christmas gift for the wife but it will be interesting to see their new M1 chips in action and the 4.5k Retina display. I just hope she loves it, Apple made it incredibly difficult being back...
