Grid 1 REVIEW — iPhone 2G Wall Art

I like the fact they also included the battery too. I hope it's a dummy, gutted battery, but I still like a more complete set. Some people ask if the parts inside the Grid 1 (iPhone 2G) can be used to build a complete phone, and the answer is no. But I guess the pristine shell could be used...

Apple TechStep Replacement ROMs, cartridges, software, and more!

You should have bought it. I doubt it would not have turned on, but even if it didn't our TechStep reverse engineering project is underway, giving insight into how the thing works and therefore potential help if one is in need of repair. $120 for a complete kit with bag, even with only 2...

For you vintage iPhone lovers out there. You can now have internal organs of the original iPhone 2G beautifully splattered on your wall! If you already own a product from Grid Studios, I'd love to see a photo of yours and hear how you like it.

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Yes, MacSD is faster on an SE/30 compared to an SE because the SCSI on the SE/30 is faster. In my MacSD review video, I present detailed benchmarking results with my SE/30.

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Speaking of "taking the bull by the horns," @iPhil64, if you don't already have a MacSD, I highly recommend you give it a try. You will see the fastest performance on Macs faster than the 8MHz SE, but it still has a pretty amazing feature set. And if you have an OverEasy II ( created by...

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Only @MacEffects and @Kai Robinson would know that based on the sales numbers of the SE Reloaded boards, and based on the boards Kai sent out to people. One thing I have learned is the life is largely what we make of it. If we sit around with a house full of parts and do nothing with them...

    QuickSANE

He didn't tell me the date, but I will find out the date when he gets it to me. Version 1.7b was never released to the general public, but apparently it was sent to select customers who had SpeedCard issues, on a case by case basis. My contact was the author of 1.7b. He created it to help out...

    QuickSANE

If there was, I assure you I would be using it! :-) In my ongoing conversations with the former member of SuperMac, he has only found a version 1.7b that fixes other issues, not the sound, but he hasn't given me that yet to try because he is awaiting the arrival of his FloppyEMU.

In early, June I posted 2 audio files here were you can hear sound with and without the distortion caused by the Levco SuperMac SpeedCard. And here is the audio Spectrogram comparison.

    QuickSANE

Unfortunately, their test seems to have consisted of only the card & SANE CP installed, without testing to see how math performance would differ with only the accelerator and NOT the CP installed. But perhaps the most interesting part of that article is this... Distorted sound plagues the...

@pocketscience I will give that app a try on the Levco SuperMac SpeedCard, which has the optional 68881 FPU, and let everyone know the result soon.

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

The mid-2015 15" MacBook Pro is a power-house! I still have mine. It takes WAY TOO LONG to export 4K video, let me tell you, but for everything else it is still amazing. Even so, I dislike the fans going full blast a lot of the time. You can't get away from that until you go with an M1 (now...

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Care to swallow the Red Pill to learn what happened during testing of my hand-made SE Reloaded motherboard? I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Here. Take a look. I promise, by the time you're done watching it, you'll feel right as rain.

Display graphic FULL SCREEN on Mac SE?

While watching that video, I felt like Mr. Spock when I exclaimed, "Fascinating!" And it really is. Folks, I wish to thank all of your for your kind ideas. Because I spent a huge amount of time getting HyperCard v2.3 to work, I stayed with that and just used Canvas 3.5.3 to covert the TIFF...

Display graphic FULL SCREEN on Mac SE?

Holy cow! I am going to test that in Mini vMac now, and if it works, I will test it on the actual SE. Thank you! UPDATE: I found it works in Mini vMac under System 6 or 7 to open the PICT files you kindly provided. It's a pretty slick little app. However, your screenshot notwithstanding, I...

Display graphic FULL SCREEN on Mac SE?

Not sure if this is a HyperCard v2.3 problem, but when I add the line "set cursor to watch" (just as a test) in the button script, when I click the button (which also hides the menubar), the cursor changes to watch and then back again so fast I almost cannot see the watch at all. I tried adding...

Display graphic FULL SCREEN on Mac SE?

@Crutch I focused on TIFF because it is more compatible with old and new Macs than even GIF or JPG. MacPaint is best for old Macs, but modern Photoshop doesn't like it. Hence my use of TIFF (no layers, no compression -- just the basics). I spent a lot of time on the HyperCard solution, so I...

Display graphic FULL SCREEN on Mac SE?

I don’t have a dedicated room for YouTube. I mostly film after hours at the office when everyone is gone home. Even then, I only have a couple hours to shoot. I have to take a lot of time to set everything up. Then I have to do the shoot and tear everything down. I also need to film the machine...

Display graphic FULL SCREEN on Mac SE?

Actually, the Noctua 60x25mm replacement fans I use in the SE & SE/30 compact Macs is quieter than a regular 35cm floor fan on low. It's just that my LAV mic is unidirectional and quite sensitive. Thanks for the reminder. For some reason I had not been able to get it to work in the past. I...
