[High Score Challenge 01] Get the highest score for 1-3 of these games

Ah, I was talking about the MacPaint method. I’m aware of the RGB HDMI device and it seems to be pretty neat, but I don’t have a real good use right now.

How do you get the direct screenshots of the gameplay?

Looks like emulation is the only way this time, which kind of stinks as the whole reason I enjoy these old games is because they're running on period hardware. I got my 170 booting 6.0.8 but the game just locks up the system when trying to launch.

[High Score Challenge 01] Get the highest score for 1-3 of these games

In other news, I just tried launching it on my 3400c (Mac OS 8.5) and the results were hilarious but expected. Interestingly enough it passed that initial error, then threw a type 1 when I tried to start a game.

Currently trying to get System 6 running on the 170, should be possible, there's a modified disk image that boots it on there.

MacMan won't launch for me, gives the following error: "MacMan will not operate with the RAM Cache on. Please turn it off with the Control Panel and try again" Not sure what the RAM cache specifically is, nor can I find a reference to it in the memory control panel. Tried with my PowerBook 145...

    Tunnel vision on PB170

I think i remember someone had it start after 2 or 3 hours so I’d run it longer. In my opinion though “unaffected” realistically means it doesn’t affect your use case, so if it doesn’t show up in the period you’re using it for, that’s good in my books. My 170 could start after 3 hours for all I...

Here we go again... (PowerBook 100 Recap/Restore)

Alright, good news. Seller agreed to remove the trackball from the PowerBook and package it separately in the box to prevent any risk of the infamous “pink splotch” showing up!

Snooper 2: Motherboard Pixel Images Extracted! ENJOY!

Ah, no problem! I ran across that thread a while back and remembered when I went to add the page for my site. Would the same advice apply to any mac with 47uf caps? Or would you need to check the voltage load on each board model to see if everything's in tolerance? Side note, if you've got a...

Snooper 2: Motherboard Pixel Images Extracted! ENJOY!

What software should we use to take screenshots? I can contribute one from my PowerBook 170/145 (same image IIRC)

Here we go again... (PowerBook 100 Recap/Restore)

So I've finally done it, I bought myself a (dead) PowerBook 100 off eBay. Great shape, tested to power on (no chime, no boot, blank no-contrast screen), and includes some fun extras including the original floppy drive! Screen doesn't have any pink splotch damage or vinegar syndrome either. I'm...

Can't get HTML Table borders to display.

Padding was added but the border still isn't displaying unfortunately. Also tried in chrome just for the heck of it since I normally use FireFox but it produced the same result. Edit: Solved it. For some reason shorthand border CSS just refused to work. Used individual border-style and...

Can't get HTML Table borders to display.

I'm trying to create a table with borders on my website, but after adding the proper CSS to my stylesheet to enable the borders, they just won't display. Stylesheet is properly linked to the html page. Any idea of what's going on? I've tried adding tr to the css, changing to 2 or 3px, and...

    Tunnel vision on PB170

Posted this on 68kMLA too but I'll put it here for anyone reading just this thread: I’ve got a completely unaffected 170 that doesn’t tunnel whatsoever and never has. I’m not taking apart the display assembly until I have a hinge fix part ready...

    Tunnel vision on PB170

They’re all gonna need it at some point… I’ve got 2. The one that dies after running for a while was the first one I had (got it with my 540c) and then the other one I got with my 540. It ran for a grand total of 20 whole minutes when I first got it then promptly died and let out the strong odor...

    Tunnel vision on PB170

Also worth noting is that I got it in august, and now I’m testing in December, so temperature could be a factor as well. My basement can get kind of chilly in the winter. I’ve got to repeat the test inside the fridge at some point, although I’ve got to recap my PSU first, it’s starting to flake...

    Tunnel vision on PB170

The most specific I’ll get is “close enough to make it to VCF East”, not really wet or dry climate really. It shipped from Oregon. It’s kept in my basement setup, which has a dehumidifier running at all times. Not positive it’s actually getting better because I could have estimated the time back...

    Tunnel vision on PB170

One thing worth noting is that I believe that my 540 is improving on its own. My 1 hour time lapse shows the issue apparent around 40 minutes in, but although I never timed it, it felt more like 20 a few months ago when I first got it.

    M5126 Portable with sound problem

Dishwasher method of cleaning can be harmful to the board. I wouldn't use it again if I were you because it can cause already weak connections to become broken, and the fact that it cleans the board hides any previous or new damage really well, which might explain why you're having a hard time...
