Apple eMate 300 Expansion Module (Open Source / Open Hardware Project)

Yes, I've rebuilt both my eMate's battery packs with new cells, however I kept/reused the temperature sensor from the original battery pack. I'm not sure I've seen reports of anyone building new packs with new sensors. If they were new sensors it seems they need to be calibrated with with data...

Apple eMate 300 Expansion Module (Open Source / Open Hardware Project)

This can't be the temperature sensor in the battery pack though, correct? I mean wouldn't there have to be some documented procedure on doing some sort of recalibration when you got a new battery pack? Oh, scratch that. Should have looked at the manual first, page 244: Replacing the...

Apple eMate 300 Expansion Module (Open Source / Open Hardware Project)

Did you try both Soft and Hard resets after removing the module? https://tim.id.au/laptops/apple/misc/emate.pdf It seem like a Hard reset might be needed to get the Flash upgrade changes undone. I might try this later but stopping while ahead tonight!

Apple eMate 300 Expansion Module (Open Source / Open Hardware Project)

I got some time this evening to do some testing with your DRAM-plus-flash module, spoiler, it works! 😃 I made sure to do a Newton device Backup using the Newton Connection Utilities app I have installed on one of my PowerBooks Next I removed the bottom panel and disconnected my rebuilt battery...

BlueBird-SD-Module: a boutique build for BlueSCSI in Blackbirds?

I’ve been wondering about that too. From the Apple Hardware Dev notes both the 180 and 540 use the same “Combo” SCSI chip but my reading is the 180 runs it at the same speed as the processor, 33MHz, where the 500 series has a split bus system running at different speeds mediated by the “Pratt”...

BlueBird-SD-Module: a boutique build for BlueSCSI in Blackbirds?

I think it's very interesting, put the battery bay to use! I do wonder if it wouldn't be easier to use an existing Powerbook BlueSCSI (thanks @Androda) and a micro SD extension like this: https://www.amazon.com/SING-LTD-Extension-Flexible-Extender/dp/B07KVT2P3F

Borrow Apple Adjustable Keyboard Wrist Rests

Sure, I’ve got the wrist rests for my Apple Adjustable Keyboard (which I bought and used in the late 90s in college, …I recall thinking it was soooo cool) and can lend them to you no problem. I don’t regularly use mine much these days since it takes up so much desk space but it definitely is a...

BlueSCSI - Open, Low Cost, DIY SCSI to SD device

This is what I use in my 575. https://www.ebay.com/itm/271623868154 …it’s a bit fiddly to get everything plugged in, I used some tongs to get the edge connector + extension cable plugged in, but works!

My MacSD Upgrade for the Colour Classic [and Stereo Mod]

Yes, looks right as far as I can tell: I actually don’t have the other parts yet, I didn’t have the values for the resistors needed. I think they are in this thread, just need to get a Mouser order together. …I do have two Color Classics, I might try to steal/barrow the components to test...

    Macintosh 128k w/ 4MB & SCSI expansion - flaky

Can you share scans the Dove MacSnap docs? I actually won one a while back on eBay and intend to install it in my 512k but haven't gotten around to it yet. Would love to see what the original docs were like!

Any Thoughts on this "Prototype" 6360?

I see it, it just has the AV video-in card installed in the slot (which between the DIMM slots and the edge of the board/power supply).

Any Thoughts on this "Prototype" 6360?

Where the AV card inputs are located? I think that looks normal. It is missing the PCI card slot cover.

Any Thoughts on this "Prototype" 6360?

Neat! The glimpse of the logic board does look like it has DIMM slots, is PCI architecture. Will be interesting see if there are any special markings on the board. Also interesting, the Ethernet connector is AAUI. I guess they made a Communications Slot II AUI card, never seen one of those.

    LC 550 Logic board debug

OMG! I feel like I've been all over the board and somehow missed this! There are a bunch of other glancing nicks I've checked out exposed copper and not found continuity breaks but this is most definitely a break! THANK YOU!

    LC 550 Logic board debug

The screen does nothing, the fan and front power light come on with ADB keyboard soft-power key press. Prior to my recapping and cleaning I was also getting a gray screen with square corners, no mouse icon or any icon. I'd be overjoyed if I could get to a blinking question mark. Will try...
