"Platinum" PLA for Macs and Apple ][s

ColorFABB is available but: a) it's expensive b) If you are outside the EU, you have to contact them from their contact page and request a quote, because their website doesn't ship outside the EU. https://colorfabb.com/silk-grey-ral-7044 If your printer is printing PanChroma better than mine...

"Platinum" PLA for Macs and Apple ][s

Here's a color comparison. Top is ColorFABB, bottom is PanChroma. Also: look at that print finish. Same printer. Customized, tuned settings for both filaments (flow rate, pressure advance, temperature, feed rate). Printed on Creality K2 Pro. The bottom (PanChroma) prints like garbage.

"Platinum" PLA for Macs and Apple ][s

The new version of it is a little warmer on the color. ColorFABB RAL 7044 is an almost exact match. Problems with both. "Gooey" or "doughy" is how I would categorize the plastic. I've printed it on everything from a Creality Ender 3 Pro up to a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon. Try using it with anything...

"Platinum" PLA for Macs and Apple ][s

Good point. I equate the stuff to a softer version of pre-aged spindler plastic. HA!

"Platinum" PLA for Macs and Apple ][s

My spools are always dried and stored in a gasket sealed container with hygrometer and silica gel. :D It's not moisture. The filament is garbage. It's soft, like chewy chocolate chip cookies. Put any stress on parts printed with it and it just peels or breaks apart.

"Platinum" PLA for Macs and Apple ][s

    A) it's not as close B) it prints like GARBAGE. It's soft, always stringy and has poor layer adhesion.

Need solution for HDI-45 to DB-15 connectors for video out

Maybe on future runs, we can get some of these done. Depending on bulk cost, we may be able to do them for only a couple dollars more per unit. They look GREAT! I'd love to give folks the option for either/or.

    Macintosh Plus 1MB oddity (?)

Yup, that's just a plain old Mac Plus board. No SCSI mod. I'm thinking it had some sort of cable that would run from the drive, through the battery port, and down to the 25 Pin connector.

    Macintosh Plus 1MB oddity (?)

Neat machine! Seems to me like it was aftermarket modded to take a SCSI hard drive, and the extra power supply may have been to provide enough extra oomph to run that internal hard drive. Those almost never happened on the Mac Plus. The Mac Plus did have mods back in the day to allow internal...

    Compact Mac's feet project

I have updated my product to use new TPE filament. They are softer, squishier, and stickier. YAY! https://jcm-1.com/product/macintosh-bumper-feet-prototype-style/

    Compact Mac's feet project

The TPU I use is not hard and won't scratch any normal surface. My workbench is pressed fiberboard. I can scratch it with my fingernail. My printed feet don't mar that surface at all.

    Compact Mac's feet project

The softness of the feet is dictated mostly by the hardness measurement, like Shore or similar. I'm curious what the hardness value is on Kay's product.

Backlit Mechanical Keyboard for the Apple IIc Computers

Hey, I talked to Mark Jozaitis of MacEffects today. Here's the latest update: "Apparently there was a typhoon that interrupted shipping in China so there one was, hopefully final, delay on the keyboards." I would think we would have an update in a week or two.

Looking For Suggestions: High Res, High Quality, High Speed Resin Printer

Looking for suggestions from real people with experience on the subject on getting a high resolution (4k? 8k? Higher? Lower? I don't even know) high speed (whatever that means in comparison to a bambu X1 carbon FDM) high quality (i.e. low maintenance, ain't gonna break, easy for an idiot to use)...

Need Sound Chip 344S1033-A for LC II

Thanks for letting me know. I checked all of that prior to my post (recapping, cleaning, trace repair, etc.). ;) In any case, I got the machine working with the original sound chip. All it took was setting the machine aside for a week and trying again. I kid you not: I just waited a week and it...

Apple /// - Titan /// +2 Board Set is cloned and ready

Yeah, it'll run "enhanced" code so to speak if you swap your processor. But you won't get MouseText or the other ROM enhancements. This will not change the speed of the Apple /// CPU. An accelerator for that would be.... a challenge.
