    Hello!

Better late than never, I suppose.. Hello, bakkus here. It all started the day my father brought home something wondrous from his job. I've been informed it was probably a 512k, and I had never seen anything like it - no wonder, I was only 3. On that (and the later SE and even later SE/30) I...

Have a Macintosh-68k? Please run this for me!

Sorry, missed the question. No overclocking, and no special RAM - the IIfx runs a stock 68030 at 40MHz: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macintosh_IIfx

    This was on 7.1.1.

    QuickSANE

Could you try making a new one? Possibly StuffIt compressed? The IIfx refuses to acknowledge it as a disk image of any sort, StuffIt gives a header fault while UnZipping, and trying to mount the image in BasiliskII funnily enough causes a crash that terminates the whole emulator.

Have a Macintosh-68k? Please run this for me!

Had the IIfx running, so I loaded this. I'm having a bit of an issue with the program filling _more_ than the available screen estate horizontally., so it makes things a bit hard to make out.y Here are the results for 100, 1000 and 3000 - if you can make them out:

    QuickSANE

It's just a little more involved - making room for the slab + screen + getting everything connected. Anyways - it's running now, but I can't for the life of me figure out the QuickSANE image. What did you use to make it? Disk Mounter 6.3 and ShrinkWrap 3.something both simply refuse to mount it.

How much of the 128K/512K hardware has been reverse engineered?

That's a good find! Could this also be compatible with other versions of the mac? Or just the 128k/512k?

    QuickSANE

I do - just need to get it out of storage :D Any information to if this is for System 6 or 7 or both?

    QuickSANE

I see that performance comparison leaflet take Plus, the SE, II, IIx, IIcx, IIci and SE/30 with various accelerators and compare them all to the IIfx - but is there a particular reason you couldn't also install QuickSANE on the IIfx?

    Lead times on mouser

I was just looking at the same thing - yeah, some parts have apparently gone out of stock and now have LONG lead times. Would love to hear people's experiences.

How do I turn off email notifications . . .

Head over to https://tinkerdifferent.com/account/preferences and untick pretty much every mail notification. Then maybe add back some - like for PMs and such.

SATA? In an old world PCI Power Mac?! IMPOSSIBRU! (Updated 11/22/23)

Having followed your trials and tribulations on Discord, I can only say: Bravo, ol' chap! Well done! The sort of tinkering I wish I had the space for. Tell me more about your plans for an already quite insane PM9600?

    PowerMac 8100 Booting issues

The NewerTech is a cool addon, but could be one source of issues. Did you try booting with the G3 removed? There was a 110MHz model released late 1994.
