Curious if anyone else is seeing their ATV gen 1 locking up with Leopard like this:
I am running the leopard image, I have the memory indicator enabled in the menu bar. It’s not out of memory, but something is causing lockups. Initially, I had the screen saver kicking in, dimming the display...
This is very cool. Messing around on an iPad Pro with the magic keyboard, but the trackpad has some odd behavior. The keyboard works, but clicking the touchpad does nothing, and the arrow cursor does not respond unless I do a two-finger reverse-pinch which is being interpretted like a click-drag...
I can confirm restoring the 10.5.8 image to the internal HDD. I was finally able to try image #1, 10.5.8 using an external USB HDD. After booting successfully with the USB, I connected to my LAN, transferred the image DMG file over to the desktop of the USB-booted ATV and launched Disk Utility...
Nice!
Here’s a photo I took underneath my ASC when I was troubleshooting similar issues. It might help you if you want to pickup the broken trace with your bodge somewhere closer, or maybe the via was the problem. In any case, maybe the photo helps.
I had a lot of gunk under my ASC so I am...
Could you please share (or re-share) your mega link? As a relative newcomer to blueSCSI, I have run into odd issues with other drivers on pre-made images (solved using SilverLining, but I‘d rather use apple drivers).
Thanks!
I think we should make that appeal to @PotatoFi to share a Pi3 version, especially given the availability challenges, many of us might be repurposing our older models for this (which works great of course)
I am using a modified case from @PotatoFi for my RaSCSI which is also running a 3B+. If I recall, I had to make some adjustments to fit as it was designed for the Pi 4. Great case though.
Hey, @PotatoFi I am looking at your item on the Prusa site and I believe I misinterpreted the ”remix” marker at the bottom. It says ”remix culture allowed” but of course, the bullet next to those line items is an “x” which, unless you are looking at others where it is a ”✔️“ it just looked like...
Hey @PotatoFi what do you think of this:
For a while now I have been playing with your designs, making adjustments for different versions etc. but I started thinking about reverse mounting. . . instead of securing it from the inside, I pushed this through from the back and the screws go in...
I can confirm ordering the same parts as rikerjoe above for my SE/30 from Mouser, and in addition, I ordered
Texas Instruments / SN74F253DR
I tried to find a picture of the board post-fix, but I don’t think I took one. I replaced the whole column of chips, possibly overkill, but it allowed me to...
Yes. That looks like the same bezel. I took it apart last night. It’s the SMK, double-ribbon board inside. Yes to mechanical caps lock mechanism.
I started pulling the keycaps which is tedious, but necessary to restore color. I am going to try to clean the bezel hoping the paint coating holds...
Not sure if you are interested in a M0487 variant, but my post here:
https://tinkerdifferent.com/threads/keyboard-help-identify-what-i-have.949/
shows a Keyboard II that has a non-colored recessed logo. It also appears to be painted, but the logo seems different to me than a keyboard that has...
There does appear to be paint flaking off the rubber feet, and on a couple of screws. In fact, there are areas under the flip-down feet where the surface is smooth as if shielded from overspray.
Still, I am surprised at the quality if this was a DIY job, especially given the light texture...
A few months ago I picked up a batch of stuff—some Mac SEs, a Classic, spare logic boards, a LOT of old HDDs, and a bag of keyboards.
One of the keyboards is odd to me. It appears to be painted. . . maybe? It looks like a professional job, with a very subtle knock-down texture and a very very...
I am pretty sure I did get the t-shirt unless they ran out by the time we got in. As you can see, we were on the second floor before getting in line and it stretched all the way down and around the corner.
I know I had a shirt (long since worn out) but I might be remembering the one from the...
Today, we finally had a chance to burn a couple EPROMs. Two out of four worked fine. The other two failed to write for some reason, even after successful erasing.
I tested the custom ROM and the Classic boots right up! Very cool. Now I have a couple of spare. Even though the original ROM turned...
I am trying to remember what I recently did to get those installed. I am starting to think that I actually created a physical floppy because I was running into the same problems.
It’s not an actual meet-up, but it was an event. Think of this as a retro-event. Perfect, right?
These are photos during my visit to the opening of Apple Store #3, Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, USA. This is a suburb of the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and St. Paul). The date was August...
