Wow. A lot of TechStep docs are water damaged? That is interesting. Humidity and storage? Like, a textbook you bought 20+ years ago. When you find it, you see wavy paper lines.

Interestingly, the spiral bound Troubleshooting Guide that I have is also water damaged. It's so bad in places that some pages are permanently stuck to each other, which means it must have been sitting in a pool of water for quite some time. You can see a little of that on on some pages in that manual in my TechStep video at 9:36 & 42:33.
I uploaded this one already its 1&2 I still need the 4th well good luck finding that one it's almost as hard as finding the 4th ROM.

Here's all the docs for the TechStep Apple released in a .zip folder below. Also I believe this was one of the last documents released.

No water damage at all. Whew.

Nice! (y) :)

@retr01 Apple did that slick video and there were mentions in various trade mags like MacWeek. But I’ve never seen a print ad per-se which is odd.

Yes. Apple probably did a memo to the authorized dealers with no advertising. That is why I want to create a paper ad what it could have been. I am already starting to work on it. Heh. :D

These are the docs that came with my unit for reference. The two floppies with introduction and reporting software are there, but I'm missing the blank floppies and its folder.

I worked in the service department of an authorized Apple dealership in California in 1993 and 1994. Funny thing, I do not remember seeing the Tech Step thingy. My service manager is one of the gurus; he may have scoffed at those. His brother(s) and family owned and ran the Connecting Point Computers franchise.

Also found this Easter egg in the non-working 4th ROM I'd imagine it's a messed up 4th ROM but a late 4th ROM and the team was saying goodbye.

I created a new print ad concept for TechStep, which Apple **could have** sent to the authorized dealership network from 1991 through 1993. 🤓☝️💡

Professionally published in color on a single sheet, the front, and back, it could have increased the interest of more authorized Apple dealers in obtaining those TechStep devices.

Since this was created more than 30 years later today, I thought the emojis were a fun twist. :D
