My suspicion is that the user agent may "look suss" to Google. We didn't have this problem with TenFourFox because I suspect it had developed sufficient notoriety with developers, but this won't be true of UXP forks.

Someone else has done a 10.4 port, and they are working on a JIT. Looking at the code it is very different from TenFourFox's, so I suspect it is a ground-up rewrite. I haven't extensively tested it. https://github.com/danupsher/machfox-browser

This JIT was done entirely by Claude AI. I am very hesitant to incorporate changes from such a thing, as it just sounds like a major problem waiting to happen.

Regarding any problems with Google, I have personally not experienced any suspicious activity checks, nor have my internal testing group reported any, though I am connected to a campus network that Google probably has laxer scrutiny towards. Google will probably flag your entire network if they do detect any suspicious activity, you may be able to get yourself "unblocked" on a different machine.

Possibly, though if it passes the test suite (TenFourFox was aggressively tested on it), then it should at least behave correctly. Couldn't say anything about security issues, of course, but those tend to be a bigger problem in the front end rather than codegen.

From what I can tell, the jsshell test suite was not run. In fact, the developer disabled ION because of what I assume to be crashes that the AI could not resolve.

When either of you use the latest version on a G4 and when you type MacintoshGarden into the search field, do you get reCAPCHA, and if so, does it hang for you like it does for me on my G4 Cube running 10.4.11 Tiger?

Great to hear that. And so... What is the technical reason I am not having the same great experience, being hit with reCAPCHA? Because I am located in Japan? As mention in my earlier post here, on the search results page, rather than see any search results, it tells me that there is "unusual traffic" from my computer and therefore it throws a reCAPCHA at me. Fine and well, but why doesn't the reCAPCHA work?

If you cannot answer these questions, maybe you could find a site that requires you to do a reCAPCHA and see you can successfully get past it? In other words, is there a bug in getting reCAPCHA to work?

Unfortunately it looks like Google thinks the JavaScript engine is too slow to be legitimate, opening the browser console shows reCAPTCHA timing out. I have also been able to reproduce this in MachFox, so it seems like we will require a significantly optimized JavaScript JIT to have a chance at passing reCAPTCHA.
