    Macintosh Plus Display vertically compressed

The only thing I can think of is swapping it with one that is known good. If that solves it, then you have your answer. If not, then it's something else on the analogue board.

    Macintosh Plus Display vertically compressed

While the Dead Mac Scrolls doesn't seem to describe your specific situation, it is at least similar to a couple from what I saw. Unfortunately, the remedies for those suggest replacing the flyback...

Finding a specific DRAM chip for PB500

Sure! But obviously they needn't go crazy. I can always try the route suggested by Kai, but thought I'd give it a shot trying to find exact matches.

Finding a specific DRAM chip for PB500

So, it seems that www.icsource.com supposedly has some of the MCM517400CT-60 chips in stock, but having emailed them a Request For Quote, I have not heard anything back as yet...

Finding a specific DRAM chip for PB500

I had seen that list as linked on Kero's site, but I guess what I wonder is, even if the pinouts are the same, is it safe to mix-and-match different brands like that? Or would I have to remove the DRAMs that are already there and then somehow find 16 chips instead of 8? Definitely not a RAM...

Finding a specific DRAM chip for PB500

Hey all! Inspired by @Branchus 's latest video demoing Kero's new RAM boards, I wanted to return to and try to upgrade my PowerBook 540c's own RAM module. RAM modules for the PowerBook 500 series are notoriously expensive now, and because the connector no longer exists, new boards cannot be...

[Mac Plus] Help with my RAM error code.

Obviously the problem has already been sussed out, but out of curiosity I plugged the code into Snooper 2: RAM Test Failed initial Bank B test It reports that the code points to memory chip 9. I'm guessing this means the first chip of SIMM 2 in Bank B? I suppose if you were adventurous you...

Snooper 2: Motherboard Pixel Images Extracted! ENJOY!

Interestingly, although the graphic depicts RAM soldered to the board, it's in four rows like a Plus!

Glad you found a more workable solution! Just for fun, here's a screenshot from an actual Mac Plus, scaled up and converted to png:

    Snooper serial loopback plug

Maybe we can just all rally to provide as many individual screenshots as we can? After all, it sounds like they are creating each logic board image on the fly from a template of pieces, rather than individual PICTs of each one (the file size for which would add up fast one imagines).
