    Apple //c Repairathon!

Missing/broken keys, lots of bad RAM, a couple dirty floppy drives, some missing/dead chips other than RAM, and one dead internal PSU. I’m outfitting these all with ROM 4X and replacement external PSU’s. I’ve also got a few of the nice little 9” green screens to go with them - those are not so...

    Apple //c Repairathon!

I’ve been working on a bunch of Apple IIc’s this week. I now have 5/6 working again, and 4/6 have working floppy drives. The last one doesn’t work at all, but gave many parts to the others…

    Apple Monitor //c “Service model”

Has anyone ever seen a monitor //c (A2M4090) with a service label on the back before? I picked up this example with what appears to be a new label attached over the old label, including a hand-written serial number. Was this just a refurbished unit or something?

Mac Plus with Brainstorm accelerator doesn't like system 7

Is there a ROM newer than 2.5? Maybe it just doesn’t work with System 7. I have some Nubus cards that never got a driver update to work with system 7, and some that will work but only if you update the ROM.

Mac Plus with Brainstorm accelerator doesn't like system 7

Some of these accelerator cards for older compact Macs required custom ROMs on either the Mac or the upgrade card to function. Does your Mac have different ROMs than a stock machine? Or is there a ROM on the accelerator card? My Mac 128 upgrade required different ROMs on the motherboard, and my...

    Quadra 610 “stuck” at 832 x 624 resolution.

Resolution is set when the three “sense pins” are shorted to ground. This is what those adapters with the dip switches are doing. Maybe there’s a short in your DB15 connector or in the board that’s forcing it to 832x624 mode?

This thing has diagnostics on it. Neat.

    My first VIC20

Well, I got a Penultimate+ cart for the machine, and it works great! I was also able to verify my old Atari joystick works too. Here’s Choplifter running from the cart, displayed on my little Sony 4x3 8” LCD studio monitor!!

    My broken SE/30

I removed the RAM, CPU, Video ROM, and ROM and put the board in an ultrasonic cleaner. I installed 8MB of known-good RAM and a BMOW ROM. The machine boots every third or fourth time now. So I’ve got a good board that needs a recap. I’d like to have a professional do it.

    The Allentown Haul

It’s some kind of PC. The guy made me take everything, including the two windows boxes. I haven’t even tried to power them on - I’m still working through the Macs.

    The Allentown Haul

I honestly haven’t even opened up that box yet.

    My broken SE/30

I have just received an SE/30. It displays horizontal lines at power up. I see some slight signs of corrosion in chips UA8-UG8. But the board seems in pretty good shape. One thing strikes me as odd - the two banks of ram have different color sockets - is that normal?

    The Allentown Haul

That Mac turned out to be a very early 128k, and it has been cleaned up and recapped, and now lives on my "keep" shelf.

    Power Macintosh 7200/7300/7500/7600 Power Button

Does anyone know where I can get a 3D printed power button for the PowerMac 7X00 series? (not 7100) I've got several of these machines, and the power button disintegrates the first time it is pressed. Thanks

    My first VIC20

I'm an Apple guy, but I bought a VIC20 on a whim. And it works! Now what?

    The Allentown Haul

I call this the Allentown haul because a guy in Allentown PA had a whole bunch of stuff that he needed removed and would only allow the buyer to take everything. So I flew to Philadelphia, rented a truck, and picked it all up. The price for this pile of stuff was $200. This photo only shows half...

    4MB Macintosh II & IIx 30-pin SIMM's

Does anyone sell 4 or 16 meg PAL simms for the II/IIx? I don't have the soldering skills to assemble one on my own.

    Macintosh connector part numbers

Does anyone know if the PDS connector from the Mac SE motherboard is available as a new part?
