I had 6.0.8 on my 5120 and it was all good, except a few apps that wanted 7.x So upgraded to 7.1 last night and it's horribly slow - still usable, but compared to 6.0.8 it's a pig. Has anyone experimented with the "best" OS for the Portable? Cheers,

It's been a while since I played with Vectrex, but I recall issues with a 555 timer could cause the issue you describe. Might be better looking for info elsewhere (I know there's an active community on FB) as there's not been a lot of talk here as you can see. The service manual is available...

A device rated 220 should work perfectly fine on 240. 220 vs 240 is a bit on an anachronism.. similarly 110 vs 120 in other places..

Yes, but it's not difficult - just a little fiddly and time-consuming if you're doing a few machines... more so on the removal front than the install. A vacuum desoldering tool makes this a lot easier.

Do yourself, and future owners of that machine, a favour and get the metal clip version.. I bought these for my SE/30's and they fit perfect. An extra $1 for the metal clip is a no-brainer.. G.

Per this page it is indeed a RAM memory test failure. What memory configuration is in the machine, and has the jumper on the logic board been configured appropriately?

They did do some transparent ones and metallic variants, but only for special occasions - I've never seen one sadly.
