problem with MicroMac accelerator in SE

Thank you! The /CAS, /RAS, and /WE lines don't appear to be tied together between the slots on this card. The address lines appear to be, but I didn't check all combinations of all 12 address lines because your message made me have a "duh" moment. When I last tried to use this card, the error...

problem with MicroMac accelerator in SE

I know the previous owner of the SE/accelerator, and he was using it with those SIMMs (over 20 years ago). I do have a big box of 30pin SIMMs though, so I could try a few different sets anyways. I have to install these new caps anyways though because there aren't any on the board right now :)

problem with MicroMac accelerator in SE

So I checked every iffy-looking trace and via, and they all have continuity across the iffy-looking parts. Also looked around the board under the microscope for bridged pins, etc and didn't see anything like that. I also ruled out a bad SIMM a year ago (swapped SIMMs with the SE logic board)...

problem with MicroMac accelerator in SE

Now that I have better equipment and some trace repair experience under my belt, I think I'm going to tackle getting this accelerator working again. The consensus a year ago was there's a continuity break somewhere (probably due to leaky cap damage) that's keeping it from seeing a couple of the...

ThinkC [Study Group 2] - Events & Menu Management

I'm here...got a bit distracted from this though. I liked the structure of these "study groups" though...made me find the time.

Whats the most useful thing you've 3d printed?

Most useful? I guess the print that I "use" the most is the little hook for my headphones that clips onto the edge of my desk.

Apple II SCSI hard drive questions

In related news, my GGLabs SCSI card arrived today, and I had GS/OS booting off a BlueSCSI within 20 minutes :)

Apple II SCSI hard drive questions

@jokker and I went back and forth with a few debug BlueSCSI firmwares he made me trying to figure out what this card is doing. In the process, I discovered that I actually own two of these CMS cards. Both of them were exhibiting the same behavior with the BlueSCSI with all other variables...

Apple II SCSI hard drive questions

Tried a different, known-working BlueSCSI...same behavior. Just ordered the GGLabs SCSI card since it's known to work and term-power will be convenient (y)

    Osborne anyone?

You'll probably like this little guy then...CP/M card for an Apple IIc :) Looking forward to trying it out when I get around to restoring my IIc's.

Apple II SCSI hard drive questions

Ya, Eric suggested I make a 32MB ProDOS image with CiderPress...tried that and no change. It has been awhile since I used this BlueSCSI, and I don't have a mac handy that it would be easy to test it with. I tried updating it to the v1.1-20220917 firmware, but that didn't change anything. It...

Apple II SCSI hard drive questions

So I've been trying to get this card working with an external DB25 BlueSCSI in my IIgs and I'm stuck. Keep in mind, I've never used SCSI on an Apple II before. I found the manual for the card here...

Is this IIgs board a ROM0 that was upgraded?

My 0173-A board does not have the //e connectors (keyboard, etc) installed: Neither does this one: https://www.myoldcomputers.com/museum/computers/appleiigs_woz.htm Here's one with the //e connectors installed, same bodge stuff on the back, and it's a 0173-B...

Is this IIgs board a ROM0 that was upgraded?

I see...bodges were done before the board ever left the factory...ROM01 upgrade would have come later. But in a nutshell, the presence of the bodges (and possibly the 'A' board revision?) suggests it started life as a ROM0 board? That would then suggest that I have a "real" Woz machine instead...

    AppleSqueezer GS and ROM0 boards

Hah, I was about to post asking "what are these bodges on the back of my IIgs board" when I saw this. I just found that my board has identical modifications: https://tinkerdifferent.com/threads/is-this-iigs-board-a-rom0-that-was-upgraded.2043/
