    SE/30 No Video After Recap

Since the problem follows the logic board to a known-good SE/30, the problem seems to be on the logic board.

    SE/30 No Video After Recap

I have an opportunity to hand-deliver an SE/30 to a friend on a road trip, and I'm down to about 24 hours to fix this. If you have ideas, I'd love to hear them now! I'm working on an SE/30 that I picked up about a year ago. It booted and worked when I brought it home, but I knew I wouldn't be...

Massive Vintage Apple Haul in Idaho

Thanks for the tip! I'll have my friend who received the 540 check on this. It is! I am still creating an inventory, removing batteries, and testing machines. I hope to make them available soon. As for timelines... I'm just not sure, as I've been super busy with work, going to conferences...

Massive Vintage Apple Haul in Idaho

Hey everyone! Sorry about the radio silence. Between family and work (including a job change), it's been hard to find time to get out to the garage to work on "the pile". I do have a couple of quick updates to share! First, I found some time last week to get the batteries out of the...

    Broken SE/30 ROM SIMM Clip

I have done a RAM-specific clip for these... but the problem is the wide array of RAM slots and RAM SIMMs. It's hard to make something universal that will work with everything. It's possible that my ROM clips will work, but I doubt it primarily due to the spacing of the slots.

    I pimped my RASCSI

I'm going to put my "Software and Hardware Product Owner" (my day job) hat on here for a second, and suggest that a user interface based on one button might not be worth it. The situation sounds a lot like a "just because you can doesn't mean you should" scenario. Part of my reasoning for this...

    I pimped my RASCSI

Nice! v2 of the RaSCSI Slim and RaSCSI Pro will have an optional spot for a screen on the front, just like you've done here. I think a one-button or rotary encoder on the front is a good idea. Having a complicated user interface with a bunch of buttons seems very "un-Mac-like" to me. As for me...

Massive Vintage Apple Haul in Idaho

She totally is. In fact, she grew up with a Performa 6210CD, and is a lot more familiar with vintage Mac games than I am! Last week, she even made me a custom carry case for my Toshiba Libretto 50CT (complete with little pouches for PCMCIA cards). So yeah... she's awesome. :) Totally...

Massive Vintage Apple Haul in Idaho

Hey everyone, I've received several inquiries about items this evening. As previously requested, please hold off on inquiries about items for now. I'm not ready yet, and I don't expect to be ready for a little while. I'll let you know here when I'm ready to begin offering items - just watch the...

Massive Vintage Apple Haul in Idaho

I've posted a short update video! YouTube: Massive Vintage Apple Haul Update 1 Basically, a friend of mine came over (the guy who gave me the water-damaged Macintosh SE) and helped me go through a bunch of machines. We started to pull random machines out, opened them up to remove the PRAM...

Massive Vintage Apple Haul in Idaho

Hey TinkerDifferent! It's the last day or #MARCHintosh2020, which seems like a good time to share this! Something happened. Something big. This is what my garage looked like about two weeks ago. If you want to hear the whole story, I recorded a YouTube video describing what happened, and...

    PowerBook G4 12" Resources?

I've received a PowerBook G4 12"! It's not in perfect shape, but I've always wanted one of these, and it boots and runs! It has ~640 mb of RAM, and an 867 MHz processor, so one of the earlier ones. I have some questions about it, and am hoping to find some resources for these. Maybe there's a...

BlueSCSI 1.1a Expansion Slot Bracket for SE and SE/30

Heads up! There were some minor fitment issues with the original 1.0 release, so I have released version 1.1 which makes some minor fitment improvements. Made the light pipe narrower to accommodate Bluepills with a vertically-installed programming header Moved the light pipe slightly further...

    SCSI2SD, RaSCSI and BlueSCSI

I'm planning to do a version 2.0 of the RaSCSI Case very soon, which will feature both Raspberry Pi 2/3 and 4 versions. I understand that this is especially important, considering how hard it is to get a Raspberry Pi right now. I'll try to prioritize this and get it done soon.

BlueSCSI 1.1a Expansion Slot Bracket for SE and SE/30

Hmmm... I can't say I've run into any fitment issues with the microSD card. On my pair of Prusa MK3S printers, the microSD card doesn't touch the printed bracket during or after installation - the card is held in exclusively by the microSD slot. Is there a specific side that the microSD card...

BlueSCSI 1.1a Expansion Slot Bracket for SE and SE/30

Hey TinkerDifferent! I'm very excited to finally release my latest printed bracket design, which mounts the BlueSCSI 1.1a in the Expansion Slot on a Macintosh SE or SE/30! The main goal of this bracket is to make the microSD card as easily accessible as possible, while keeping your Mac fully...

    Restoration: Nintendo Entertainment System

Just to remember where we started, here's before: And here's after! I'm very happy with how the black plastic parts turned out after wet-sanding and polishing! And let's not forget about the back of the controller. And with that, our restoration thread draws to a close! Thank you...

    Restoration: Nintendo Entertainment System

There's just one more thing left to finish up this restoration: the controller! Let's get after it! First, let's attempt to survey the damage with this blurry photo. Hmmm, okay. Not bad let's look at the ba- OH MY GOSH. Yikes. This is going to take some work to clean up. Did someone plat...

    Restoration: Nintendo Entertainment System

Interesting. I suppose we could contact the seller and ask, as he has a good reputation. I did leave a cartridge in for several weeks, and on removing it just now didn't notice much of a difference. Thank you very much!
