Hi James, I believe Profile Posts are just posts made by a member onto their own profile page (kind of like posting on your own Facebook feed). As such, they are not associated with a specific thread.

    Message from the President

Hello fellow tinkerers! It was mentioned to me the other day that since the Tinker Different board was formed on the 7th November, we have been a little quiet. I guess we're still getting into the groove with our new roles, and trying to figure out scheduling around our busy lives and multiple...

Upgrading from HDD to SSD - how to migrate data?

In most instances you can bless the System Folder just by opening and closing it. Certainly try that first.

Is the AMTECH 559 PLUNGER botched?

No video (that comes to mind) but this is the 3D model.

Is the AMTECH 559 PLUNGER botched?

My last 30cc tube was terrible. I lost so much flux, seeping out onto the bench top. Thankfully, it doesn't seem to do the same with the 10cc tubes, so that's what I use now. I also use my own 3D printed plunger. I made it so that it fits really snuggly in the tube, but also allows air to flow...

Missing capacitors on Umax Gemini secondary CPU card

I haven't had it under the microscope yet, but at a glance, it looks like the missing resistors are meant to be that way. I think the only components that were deliberately removed are the surface mount electrolytics.

Missing capacitors on Umax Gemini secondary CPU card

Hello all, I have a Umax Gemini secondary CPU card (604e 250MHz) but it's been through the wars and lost a few surface mount electrolytic caps. If anyone has one of these and can tell me what sort of caps I'm missing, or a picture of one that I can use as a guide, it would be greatly appreciated!

System 6 - Flashing Disk Question Mark - Replace System File - fixed

You may be able to prevent this from happening in the future with a tweak to your SCSI2SD settings. In case you haven't already, make sure you have "Enable Disk Cache" disabled.

MAC SE FDHD Floppy Cover with activity LED

I feel like I find those yellow disks at the bottom of every drawer in my house. I should probably share some of them.

MAC SE FDHD Floppy Cover with activity LED

I have been looking for the same. I would be glad to design a replacement for 3D printing, but unfortunately I don't have a real one to copy from. If I ever do get my hands on one, I will create an STL of it.

A great (and perhaps little known) feature of SheepShaver

I wanted to be the first to post in this category, and I thought I would use it to mention a great feature of SheepShaver I recently discovered. SheepShaver has the ability to create self-contained virtual machines. So you can place the application, the ROM and disk image all into a single...
