    A takky Mac…..

I like the fact that by this conversion even a 25+ Year old classic II still can look a bit more modern…..👍 Go for it, if youve got a spare enclosure! Using an orbital sander with rough sandpaper at low rpm can do the job also. You just have to be careful and work precise. 🍀

    A Classic II/LC III laptop/book….

Succes! Bending with some heat works. All keys work, but some make no good contact, as you have to push them a few times before letter shows up. Maybe ive damages the pads while cleaning? Anyhow succes and bad luck on that. It was a doubtfull keyboard to start with. 🙈

A small adoptation to previous addition of the connection shield….. As the bottompart mostly needs individual correction anyhow, this has become a 3D printed component. This way its easier to locally adjust connectors/cables to non standard personal wishes. The top powerconnections aswell as...

    A takky Mac…..

Thanks Fred, I do enjoy this stuff! Yes, a 9,7“ Ipad screen can be used for sure! But it wont fit, and its non reversable conversion. The Bezel has to be cut down to make use of the full display. Drivers for the display can be found on Ebay/Ali. Be aware to check the product number on the...

    A Classic II/LC III laptop/book….

Hi there, thanks for your concern! Its laminated dual layer pcb foil, so its bonded together with traces in between. Further I wont be aiming for a sharp bend, but radius as big as acceptable/useable. Next to that, I will add some heat to get the tension a bit off the plastic foil (and shield...

M0487 1990 ADB thats the one….. I will flexcut the metal baseplate-straighten it tomorrow, and put the board together and leave the „pcb“ sticking out the side Connect it to my Classic II and see if it works, then check if I can actually bend the foil without a problems Good idea to round the...

    A Classic II/LC III laptop/book….

Thanks for the suggestions/advise Well, cutting trace piece by piece is a good idea. But I had an extra look if repair would be possible. It turns out that this is a two layer lamination. So unless you scrape off a layer, there is no way to repair/patch them again. I will have an extra look how...

    A Classic II/LC III laptop/book….

Ive gotten the backplate off pretty easy. Anyone knows what happens if the numerical pad is cut off allong the red line? Will the rest of the keyboard still function? The first purple line-left- is the position where the support plastic needs to be cutoff…. My guess is the electronics sees only...

    A Classic II/LC III laptop/book….

I could borrow the flat keyboard from my wifes imac, do not think she will appreciate that….💥 Still,…. I feel the old Mac-keyboard will fit, with an internal case height on the edge of 12-14mm. The curved baseplate can be straightened easely, while taking it apart for shortening. No biggie👍 🍀

@retr01 , portable keyboards could indeed be the solution in this matter. 🍀

Gotcha! 🙈 The keyboard remains an issue…..to be solved. Problem is to find one overhere. I just start with the one I have. 🍀

    A Classic II/LC III laptop/book….

Gotcha? Aint that a bit like nitpicking ( or whatever that is called) The mainboard, LCD display, Blue SCSI , Lipocells I am using here, these are also not time correct. As I wrote earlier..….The keyboard thickness is defining that largel…….y But you are right, and as the base thickness...

    A takky Mac…..

No….. Its seven now 😇 but its perfect ! A pitty I have no original SE-30 mains connector and switch - for the actuall hole dimensions. (Maybe I can harvest mains&switch from another blown Apple PSU (in beige) as I still have that somewhere) Alternatively a common, well available standard...

@Trash80toG4 …“took me very much by surprise“. ….. Maybe I was not clear here, and it was not 100% clear to me, what has drawn me into this project. I guess I am not understanding this Apple product concept, and want to find out what went wrong. I wonder what could have happened if Apple would...

@Trash80toG4 , appologies accepted. First, I think we are here for our enjoyment, and love for the Apple products (or the other way arround) This project here is open for any comments/suggestions by all members. I appreciate usefull input, but I also have to make it work in the end. I dont...
